The Torp at Oppgården

Welcome to our bohemian cottage at Oppgården! We are very happy that you have chosen to rent our little cottage outside Strängnäs, Swedish idyll is probably the right description. Our first guest used the cottage as a writing retreat for a documentary. The couple who came after wanted to visit the Swedish countryside and hoped to see bears (note: there are no bears here). A third to recover and land in silence. What are your needs? The space The cottage contains a bedroom, kitchen, toilet, and a small hall. A lovely outdoor shower with hot water is located by the lilac hedge on the outside. At the back, there is a private cozy patio with barbecue, dining area and outdoor furniture. Feel free to check out our photos, where you can clearly see what the place looks like! The cottage does not have running water indoors, but we set up glass containers with drinking water for you and refill when needed. A faucet is available by the sink outside. The outdoor shower has running hot water. Since the cottage has no sewage, the cottage is equipped with a separate toilet. This means that the liquid is separated, and makes it not smell anything. We take care of emptying the toilet. Guest access You have private access to the entire cottage and patio during your stay. Other things to note LOCAL AREA: * Bathing There is a small beach for a morning swim just below the cottage, but note that the docks are private. If you want to hang out for a few hours by the water, there is a sun terrace 5 minutes away and a very good public swimming area for swimming in Björktorp, about 2 km from here. * Transportation It is about 10 km from here to the train station in Strängnäs There is a bus (number 332) a few times in the morning and afternoon on weekdays (not Saturday-Sunday) Tickets can be purchased directly in the Sörmlandstrafiken app or paid by Visa card on board. Taxis to and from Strängnäs cost about €40 and can be booked via Taxi Strängnäs (Search on Google) There is parking on our property for one car. * Exercise There is a very good 6 km exercise loop here around Brunnsåker. STRÄNGNÄS: * Shopping If you have access to a car, there is Solberga shopping area with Coop, Willys & Lidl, as well as a really good café, Bageri Speceri. If you come by train, both Ica and Matarket are in the center before you take the bus out. Also Systembolag, pharmacy, bakery and some clothing stores. * Eating Strängnäs has many cafés and restaurants. Our favorites in the summer are Grassagården for lunch and coffee or Naskovit in the evening. If you go a little outside, there are the fantastic Hornudden and Café Klaver outside Mariefred. * Other Stallarholmen's yellow industrial house is an inspiring destination, Mariefred is really a classic summer pearl and there are plenty of destinations around Sörmland if you have a car.
