Tranquil studio with outdoor pool and rural views

Unwind at The Pool House with peaceful rural views, country walks & a village pub nearby. 5 miles from the market town of Thame, 10 miles from Oxford and a few minutes from J7 of the M40. The property is an insulated wooden studio with its own garden area plus sole access to a heated pool open to 22 September 2025 apart from one hour a day from 6.30pm. Up to two well-behaved, friendly and social dogs welcome for a small fee (no pets in the pool though, please). Sorry no babies/children under 18 The space The Pool House is open-plan with: * free Wi-Fi; * a very comfortable king-sized bed with Hypnos mattress and 100% cotton bedding; * a sofa, footstools & Smart TV (Amazon Prime, Netflix, iPlayer etc) * two armchairs; * a laptop-friendly dining table with lovely views; * hanging space and storage; *kitchenette with kettle, toaster, microwave, one ring induction hob, dishwasher, sink & full-sized fridge freezer; (no oven) * a good-sized bathroom with electric shower, basin, WC and heated towel rail. Outside there is: * charcoal-fired barbecue, on request, with charcoal provided * large private south-facing grassed garden area with table and chairs (please note that although this is not overlooked by our garden, it isn't separated from it by any fencing so curious pets, including our dog, may wander between the two areas) * heated outdoor pool 11m x 5m with patio and grass area, loungers, umbrellas, table and chairs, hammock and lilos (open 23 May to 22 September 2025). This is for your sole use except for an hour each evening from approximately 6.30pm when the owners swim. The pool area is fully fenced. The location is great with plenty of dog-friendly walks from the door, a village pub ten minutes walk away and an organic farm-shop with takeaway coffee across the lane (open in the mornings from Thursday to Saturday). Raymond Blanc's Michelin-starred Le Manoir is a five minute drive away and lots of local pubs are within a short drive. Our nearby market town of Thame has a variety of places to eat, shops and a Waitrose & Sainsburys. The delights of Oxford are close by and accessible via Thornhill Park and Ride, a 12 minute drive away, or a public bus from opposite our village pub. Bicester Village Retail Outlet is 25 minutes drive and, for Jeremy Clarkson fans, his pub The Farmer’s Dog is a 40 minute drive away and can be combined with a trip to Burford, a pretty Cotswold town and the very chic Burford Garden Centre with home wares and lovely cafe. Guest access Access is through electric gates and parking is beside The Pool House. You can relax outside, either by the pool (pool and pool area open 23 May to 22 September) or in your own large south-facing garden area. A gate next to the Pool House leads straight onto our 8 acre paddock for access to lovely walks and the Oxfordshire Way or for walking to the local pub or bus stops for Oxford or Thame, all a 10 minute walk away Other things to note We have a very friendly Cockapoo who will probably be keen to meet you and your dog, should you bring one. We also have two very shy outdoor cats. Please let us know if you’re not comfortable with a dog around. The 11m x 5m heated swimming pool is available from 23 May to 22 September, except for an hour each evening from 6.30pm when we use it. We provide extra towels for swimming. The large guests’ garden area lies in a secluded corner of our garden but is only separated from our part of the garden by trees and foliage, rather than a fence. It's not overlooked but pets do inevitably move between the two areas.
