Welcome to Green Door House in the heart of the Village of Saugerties in Upstate NY! Easy walk to restaurants, antique shops, Seamon Park, Cantine Field and HITS. The space Built in 1875, we set about restoring this beautiful 150 year old house, to reflect our love of ‘rough luxe’. Over the last 12 years we’ve restored design elements that remind us of bygone times - with hand painted antiqued plaster walls, elaborate tin ceilings, gold leaf accents & a wood burning fireplace to sit by - in a leather club chair, a chesterfield or Ralph Lauren pure wool upholstery. An eclectic mix of Navajo rugs, shearling & tartan throws all add to the relaxed vibe. Antique lighting, with the warm glow of Edison filament bulbs, are throughout the home for a cosy familia feel. The kitchen features a black marble open plan kitchen island to sit around, prepare meals or drink wine! There is a undercounter fridge & freezer in the kitchen & a an extra big fridge in the basement. The dining room with a solid oak dining table can comfortably seat 8 people amid the library of design book’s & portraits adorning the walls.   A study area with cast iron desk & captains chair adjoins the dining room with high speed internet.  A closed in rear porch leads to the garden & Weber gas grill for year round alfresco cooking.  The private driveway can fit up to 4 cars so no need for street parking.  Upstairs the main bedroom has a King Size Casper Wave mattress & beautiful tin ceilings. Bedroom 2 has a Queen size mattress. Bedroom 3 also has a King Size Casper Wave mattress. The bathroom has a marble mosaic floor, brushed brass fittings from Restoration Hardware, plus a huge walk-in shower & heated towel warmer. Other things to note The downstairs has an open-plan layout. The study area is not enclosed if you are working from home. Unfortunately we cannot host cats due to allergies.
