Rural, well-equipped cottage & garden surrounded by David Hockney landscapes in the Yorkshire Wolds. Ideally located in a peaceful village between Bridlington & Driffield, 15–20 mins from the coast & RSPB Bempton Cliffs. • Flexible sleeping with a super king (or 2 singles) & a double • Fast WiFi • Comfortable living space • Friendly village pub • Explore walking & cycling routes, market towns, sandy beaches •easy access to coastal & inland work locations •contractor parking for up to 2 vans The space Milo cottage is 120 years old has been lovingly renovated and decorated throughout to create a relaxing and comfortable home from home with a touch of luxury. Whether you are friends, family or a couple looking for a base to explore by car, bike or on foot, a peaceful retreat away from it all or a romantic hideaway I am sure you will enjoy our cottage, garden, village and location as much as we do. It’s the perfect base to explore and the garden is a peaceful place to return to as the sun goes down. The village also has a park which is great for younger children. Equally we welcome contractors or staff working in the area looking for a more “home from home” serviced accommodation with fast free WiFi for flexible wfh guests who want to escape and enjoy a new view in a convenient base. The cottage has a smart tv and free on the road parking in front of the cottage. Please note that the track to the side of the cottage is access for our neighbours. If contractors have a van please let me know in advance re parking. Downstairs everything is pretty much on a level. There is a through lounge/dining room with big windows letting light in both sides giving it a light airy feel. It is carpeted throughout except the kitchen and utility and the bathroom. A lovely light-filled staircase leads to two double bedrooms and the house bathroom which has a bath and shower over bath, basin and toilet, towel rail and large wall heated mirror. The larger front bedroom has a super king bed which can also be split into two singles if required to accommodate different groups of guests and has storage for suitcases underneath. There are two sets of built in drawers, a wooden rail and hangers and bedside table/drawers. There is also a long mirror cabinet on the wall. The bedroom at the back has views of the garden and the rolling hills of The Yorkshire Wolds beyond. It has a double bed, bedside table/ drawers a wooden rail and hangers and a turning mirror with shelves for storage. Our beds are firm/medium and pillows plump. In the warmer summer months we have Mitre luxury 400 thread count savoy bedding for adults and Mitre easy care for families and older children. In the cooler months we have John Lewis /Dorma warm and cosy brushed cotton bedding and Heat Holders luxury fleece thermal blankets (1.7 tog) for an extra layer of snuggly comfort. We also provide Hotties as an alternative microwavable hot water bottle in a lambswool fleece cover. The cottage has gas central heating with radiators in each room. We also have a multi fuel stove which we set up ready for you to light, additional kindling, firelighters and suitable seasoned logs are available from the local shop just around the corner. We love coffee, cooking, eating and drinking so our country kitchen, as described by our guests, is “well equipped” and a “home from home” so you should have everything you need for your stay. We have a variety of herbs in our planters in the garden so feel free use if you feel like cooking we also provide salt & pepper, vegetable oil, and sugar. After your journey getting here we like to provide a pint of milk, teabags & coffee pods for a welcome drink on arrival, but please note we are self catering and don’t provide tea and coffee for the full duration of your stay. There is a pretty well stocked local Co-op in the village and main supermarkets in Driffield and Bridlington. We have an electric oven/hob, a microwave, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine (original pods) plenty of glasses for water, juice, wine, Prosecco, beer, and whisky and John Lewis tableware. We also have a large frying pan, a tiered steamer pan, saucepan set, baking trays, pizza mesh x2, jugs, bowls and oven dishes, hand mixer, Masterchef and Joseph Joseph knives and plenty of cutlery. We also provide cloths, antibacterial spray, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea towels, a kitchen roll, foil and grease proof paper for use during your stay. We also provide an iron and small table ironing board. We have a large farmhouse wooden table with views of the garden. There is a stable door from the kitchen into the utility/boot room which leads outside to the garden and patio. It has a slimline Bosch dishwasher, a slimline fridge with small freezer compartment and storage for coats and shoes/boots. Please note that we do not have a washing machine. There are washing services in Driffield near the train station and in Bridlington. We have a lovely well maintained peaceful garden for you to enjoy with a patio, table and chairs and parasol for morning coffees, lunch or dinner or drinks. We also have a swing lounger during the spring, summer and autumn and a chaise sun lounger in summer (subject to weather conditions) to watch the sun go down after a day at the beach, walking, cycling or sightseeing. And if you like outdoor cooking we also have a BBQ and a chimnea available for to use-we do store these during the winter and colder months but they are available on request. You will need to bring your own charcoal & lighters for the bbq and wood for chimnea. If you need to work during your stay we have a comfortable work chair that fits under our lovely wooden table overlooking the garden and meadows beyond for you to use-just let me know in advance of your stay. In hot weather we provide an electric fan in each bedroom for your comfort. If you have any questions please message. We look forward to welcoming you. Guest access You are free to enjoy all rooms in the cottage and outside space . Please note that the cylinder cupboard at the top of the stairs is locked and storage under the back bedroom is for our own family use. Other things to note Please note that service dogs are allowed in the cottage and we have a family dog that visits the cottage occasionally so please consider this before booking if any guests have any allergies to dogs. Our cottage is not set up for infants but we welcome families with children over 5 years old. We have a strictly no smoking and no drugs policy. Due to new fire safety regulation this is now extended to vaping/e-cigarettes. Electricity during your stay is domestic use only. EV charging is not permitted as this poses a fire risk. Charging stations are located in Driffield and Bridlington. Due to new fire safety regulations and for your own safety, charging E-bikes & scooters at the cottage is not permitted. For your information we have a security camera at the front door. No parties or events are allowed. We expect guests to respect our neighbours and comply with Airbnb Community Disturbance Policies. A maximum of 4 guests are permitted to stay. The lead guest must confirm who will be staying at the time of booking, no additional guests are allowed to stay. We do not allow any outside suppliers, services or events to take place in the cottage or garden.
