Relax with friends or family at this newly renovated classic holiday home, on a secluded bush property. The space The house is set on several acres of beautiful, secluded bushland near Lake Eildon. At the centre of the house is a cosy living room with a fireplace, and a well set up kitchen. You can BBQ on the weber or in the fire pit, and most importantly kick back and relax on the huge deck surrounded by bushland. There are four bedrooms, two with queen size beds, one with two bunks and a cot, and one with a bunk (double bed on the bottom). The house is fully off-grid, solar power and tank water, so we do ask you are especially careful using water and electricity. The house is a perfect get away for two families or a small group of friends. No parties, events or camping. There are kayaks, life jackets and inflatables at the house for you to use. Important: Lake Eildon is around a 5-minute walk from the house (at August 2025). See photo. Lake Eildon is a dam used for irrigating farms across Victoria so levels may change into the future. Guest access You will have access to the whole house. Other things to note SHEETS AND TOWELS ARE NOT PROVIDED – WE KINDLY ASK YOU BRING YOUR OWN. We do provide hand towels, bathmat and tea towels. There is no TV or internet/Wi-Fi available. You can get Telstra mobile reception, but very minimal Optus and Vodaphone reception. A stay at Lakeside Bush Retreat is your chance for a digital detox but if you need some screen time, we suggest you download what you like to watch or play onto your device before you come and stay. There is filtered drinking water, so you don't need to bring bottled water. The house is a basic cabin, and the only heating is a wood fire in the living room. In autumn and winter it gets very cold, and while you can keep the fire going to keep warm some parts of the house will stay cold. Please do not bring your own heater or other appliances as being only solar powered there is not enough electricity to power them.
