Description
Headed to Chicago with a crew that likes their personal space? This large nautical flavored space has room for everyone to manspread, unwind, and still like each other afterward. Spread across two full floors, it’s a spacious, design-forward home in Ravenswood. Minutes from Wrigley Field, Andersonville, and the Brown Line. White walls, black trim, Norwegian maritime banners, comfortable beds, great light, and....plenty of room for big groups to actually breathe. The space 10 takeaways for people who don’t have the patience to read my ramblings (but still deserve a very nice place to stay) • Entire two floor duplex apartment in Ravenswood, Chicago, on the North Side • Sleeps 8 (1 Queen, 2 Kings, and 2 Twin beds) • Full kitchen + fast Wi-Fi • Work-friendly spaces ideal for remote work • Two baths with (pretty dang good) water pressure • Professionally cleaned by people who care deeply and would benefit from other hobbies • 35-minute walk to Wrigley, 10-minute stroll to the Brown Line • First-floor unit in a vintage building (quirks included, free of charge) and includes an exterior deck • Hosted by a creative human, managed by professionals who actually pick up the phone • Thoughtful touches, neurotic art • 24/7 phone support after booking • The towels are nice and the bath products aren’t from a gas station. You’ll be fine. I also run a few other apartments in this neighborhood. Each one has its own personality; the same sitcom energy, just different wardrobes. If you’re curious, look for the other terrible puns: 'Shingle Life', 'Alpaca My Bags', and 'Costa Lota' are a few. You'll find soft, nice sheets (not the nylon nightmares other hosts offer up), good pillows, a good mattress, thick towels, and Public Goods bath products. I also keep you stocked with coffee and a few small extras to make mornings feel less like punishment. I’ve partnered with a top-tier management team to handle logistics and cleaning, so you get both thoughtful design and professional support. You’re getting the best of both worlds here: I get to be your friendly, creative host...sharing local tips and a well-loved space...without also being the person scrubbing behind the toilet. I wouldn’t list a space I wouldn’t stay in myself, so I like to point out every quirk. Clear expectations make for great stays. There are six steps up into the unit, so it’s not great for guests with limited mobility. Theres also a pretty steep set of steps that lead to the lower level; nothing out of the ordinary, but maybe give grampa the upstairs bedroom. And yes, it’s the ground floor of a 120-year-old building, so you will hear footsteps above and folks walking by outside the bedroom windows. Location: The flat is in Ravenswood, a peaceful, tree-lined neighborhood with its own vibe. You’re tucked into a quiet pocket of the city just a few blocks west of Ashland, where things get lively fast. Walk a few minutes over and you’re on the Brown Line train (a super scenic trip that takes you straight into the heart of Chicago) or stroll over to hop the Ashland bus and you’ll be down in Wrigleyville or up in Andersonville before your phone finishes loading the weather. Wrigley Field is about a 35-minute walk or a 10-minute cab ride. The neighborhood is full of lovely old houses with a few great spots to eat here and there. This is also a great spot for longer stays or remote work thanks to quiet surroundings and easy North Side transit. Ravenswood is considered one of the best-connected neighborhoods for exploring Chicago without a car. Parking: I’ll say this, and really mean it: we are so well located with transit and ride share options you probably won’t need a car unless you’re using it to get to Chicago. But, lucky for you...the building has an absolutely marvelous parking spot included with it. Also, a universal city tip: please read the street signs. All of them. Chicago’s parking rules were clearly written by a sleep-deprived poet with a grudge. Exclusive perks: Guests staying under 14 days get access to The Metropolitan Club, a members-only co-working and dining space on the 66th and 67th floors of the Willis Tower. Yes, it’s fancy. Yes, the view is outrageous. Yes, you can take your laptop and pretend to be someone who owns a watch that ticks. Design notes: This flat is all about big, simple contrast: white walls, black trim, and a lineup of real-deal nautical banners from Norway. It’s sharp, bold, and makes a surprisingly good backdrop for pre-gaming, debriefing, or arguing about who called the good bed first. And with two floors, you can safely exile the snorer—and still have room for the guy who travels with an industrial tub of protein powder. Guest access The entire flat is yours. If you smoke we ask that you go off of the property (not outside of the back door). Other things to note FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: “How do I get to ‘x’ from the apartment?/How far is the apartment from ‘x’?” A: Excellent public transit directions from my flat to any point in the city are available via web search. We're a short walk from the Addison Brown Line “L” train station. Search for “Addison Brown Line stop Chicago” in Maps, click the “Directions” button, then enter your point of interest. Q: When is check-in/check-out? A: Check-in is at 4pm. Check-out is at 11am. If you need a place to stash bags before or after, I can recommend a local luggage drop service. It never hurts to ask about early check-in. If we can, we do it. But a late checkout is always going to be a no, as our team of cleaners get their hustle on during the day so they can go home to their families at night. Q: “Is there parking nearby?” A: One free parking spot is included with your stay. If you'll bring more than one car, there's free street parking on our block and most residential blocks nearby except between 5-10pm on Cubs game nights and when there are special events at Wrigley Field. Be sure to move your car because the street will be a tow zone during those hours without a residential permit. Take care to check all signs nearby when parking because it's easy to get a ticket when parking rules are broken. Registration Details R23000095927
