The Lightning Lodge is a hard to find updated log home in walkable Running Springs. Stroll to shops, dining, local farmer's market / festivals, park and hiking. This quiet retreat lies 1-2 hour's drive from major SoCal cities. It's convenient to Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead, and only 6 miles to skiing! Large rooms with abundant windows, a cook's kitchen and yard with covered spa make the Lodge your ideal getaway. We offer central heat, fireplace and new A/C on both floors. The space The Lightning Lodge is authentic log home construction with solid wood walls, ceilings and a covered rocking chair front porch in the ideal central location. The 1500+ sq ft space has two large bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms and sleeps up to 6 guests (two per bed including sofa bed), and 2 extra children on stowaway beds, for a maximum of 8 guests. To reserve a stay with extra guests (5 or more), there is an extra guest fee due to additional cleaning and supplies. Please reach out to discuss sleeping accommodations. Furthermore, we are pet friendly (up to 2 pets) with a pet fee. Your main level living room has a gas log fireplace and built-in entertainment. There's abundant seating with 2 sofas (one is a full-sized sleeper), a lounge chair and game table. Guests have a selection of books, games, acoustic guitar and records. New A/C unit serves the downstairs living spaces. Our high speed internet has been upgraded to even faster, more reliable fiber optic service, with streaming on all 3 TVs. Entertain in the massive cook's kitchen with island and open dining space. The original cabin kitchen is upgraded with bright lighting, stainless appliances (side by side refrigerator with filtered ice/water, double ovens, 6 burner vented gas cooktop, double drawer dishwasher, wine fridge, garbage disposals), commercial faucet and many extras. Seats up to 8 at the farm table and 2 at the island. The main floor has a convenient half bath. A back door in the kitchen leads directly to a gas grill and private backyard seating with firepit. Two large upstairs split-plan bedrooms and a full bathroom with tub/shower. Bedrooms have non-allergenic memory foam Purple mattresses with Tempurpedic toppers, premium cotton sheets and blankets, terry robes, walk-in closets, A/C in summer, ceiling fans, smart TVs with streaming, built-in dressers, and walk-in closets. Bedrooms have dedicated desks that double as vanities. A modernized upstairs bathroom is equipped with toiletries and bidet toilet. Up to 2 adults can sleep on the full-sized convertible sofa in the living room. Plus, two single deluxe floor mattresses ideal for children may be used anywhere extra sleeping is needed. Outdoors, the level private paved driveway, easily accessible to low cars, doubles as a basketball court. For EV charging, we offer a Generation 2 Tesla wall charger (NACS to J1722 adapter allows for universal charging of any EV). A screened porch below the front steps houses a jacuzzi spa for 4. We provide yoga mats, sleds (seasonal), driveway basketball and cornhole. Visit the weekly farmer's market, festivals, public library, clinic, forest trails and numerous shops and dining in the village. Snow Valley Ski Resort is 10 mins away, public Lake Gregory 20 mins, Lake Arrowhead 15 mins and Big Bear Lake 25 mins. Guest access The Lightning Lodge is a spacious 1500+ square feet of log home living on 2 floors. Guests have full, private use of the yard and driveway. Currently, the top two floors are available for guests while the unoccupied ground floor is under improvmement. Other things to note NOTE: CHECK-OUT INSTRUCTIONS: Turn off unnecessary lights, appliances, A/C. Turn off GAS appliances (grill, fire pit) and turn off both the gas and pilot light to the fireplace. Kindly CLOSE and LOCK any windows opened during your stay. Please lock the front door keypad only (not the handle). Keep the spa covered when not in use, and return the cover securely before leaving. Please LOCK spa door before leaving. Check for personal belongings before check out. Please contact us promptly if you believe an item has been left behind. Place bagged household trash and pet waste in the correct can, located on the covered porch to the right of the garage (black = trash / blue = recycling). Keep lids on and secure with animal proof locks. No need to take cans to the curb; professional service picks up from the covered porch on Monday mornings. *Excessive or bulk size trash that won't fit in cans may incur an extra disposal fee of $50 to remove from the property. Groups of 4+ are provided 2 trash cans and one recycle can. If trash exceeds what fits in the provided cans, consider taking it with you for disposal. Kindly leave used linens out, in hampers or on the floor. Place dirty dishes / pet bowls in the dishwasher before leaving. You may start the dishwasher if desired (both drawers work independently) using tablets under the sink. Please return indoor and outdoor games, sports equipment and outdoor pillows to where they are stored so they're available for the next visitors. *Accidents happen.
