Chalet Shaw is our beautiful & comfy cabin nestled in the woods. An easy 2hr drive from NYC, it features 4 bedrooms, open concept living, game room and a swimming pool on 3 private acres. Set far back on a quiet country road, you'll leave the hustle and bustle of life behind and feel instantly welcomed by the private setting of the modern yet cozy Chalet Shaw (Check out our IG profile @chaletshaw) We live in our beloved home full-time, only leaving when renting to responsible and respectful people who will treat our space with as much love and care as we do. Please note: A 5-night minimum stay is required for the Summer season. A 3-night minimum stay is required throughout the rest of the year. When you enter the 3-story/ 4-bedroom home, on the main level you’ll be greeted by a bright and open floor plan. An updated, fully-equipped kitchen overlooks the dining area that seats 8 and our comfortable and inviting living room with wood vaulted ceilings. The living room provides entertainment with 65" smart TV with cable, movie channels as well as our movie library (on DVR and DVDs) and records for our vintage record player. It also has an electric fireplace and couch to seat the whole gang. The main floor provides 2 comfortable bedrooms and 1.5 well-appointed baths. Please note that these 2 bedrooms share an entrance - you'll have to take 2 steps into the black & white room to access the pink & gray room. This is not an issue for family or close friends that stay. The large master suite occupies the entire top floor with king sized bed, deep soaker tub, shower, electric fireplace, reading nook and stunning picture window views bringing nature into this peaceful space. The lower level features a bedroom with two full-size beds and a game room complete with a refinished vintage pool table, wood burning stove, darts, game table, TV and plenty of space to unwind. There is also a small workout area for yoga and light weights. Outside, the wrap-around deck provides plenty of space for entertaining and wildlife-watching all year. In the warmer months, the side deck offers a BBQ and outdoor furniture making it perfect for dining al fresco while surrounded by nature. In the Summer months, you can enjoy the refreshing in-ground pool for cooling off or just lounging. You also have a firepit to gather around to keep cozy on those chilly upstate nights. Guests may access house except for garage, utility room, bar cabinet, office and some closets. -We strive to personally check-in all our guests. -We are available before your stay for any questions via AirBNB. -During your stay, you may contact us at any time through the app or by phone/text message. -It’s our pleasure to suggest things to do in the area. You may find below our list of local recommendations. -Please reach out should you need more details or help planning a suggested itinerary. -There is limited cell service on and around the property (only Verizon seems to work) so you will need to connect to the WiFi. There is plenty to do in the area! Stone Ridge is a beautiful historic hamlet in the Hudson Valley. A 10-minute drive to Main Street brings you to some of our favorite local spots for eating and amenities. You can reference our recommendations for Stone Ridge, Rosendale, High Falls and surrounding areas in our Guidebook on AirBNB. We'll also provide a physical list of recommendations. We are also conveniently located a quick 25-minute drive to Woodstock, New Paltz, Kingston, Saugerties and Phoenicia. Rhinebeck is just 10 minutes further over the river. All towns having their own great dining and shopping options, we are happy to provide our favorites. If you crave outdoor winter sports, Windam, Hunter and Belleayre are all 45-50 minutes away. We highly recommend a car for transportation to the home and during your stay. The Trailway bus is the only nearby public transportation from the city. The closest stop is in Rosendale, 20 drive min from the house. However, Uber or taxi service is not readily available in or around the area. IMPORTANT: Please read before placing a reservation request: My husband and I live in our beloved home full-time, only renting out an average of 10% of the year. We will only accept responsible and respectful people who will treat our space with as much love and care as we do. By placing your reservation, you are stating that you have read, understood and agreed to the below rules: -Must be 25 years or older to rent -We do NOT accept bachelor or bachelorette party reservations -No Parties: This home is not the appropriate setting for a "house party"! Illegal drugs of any kind or excessive drinking to the point of loss of control are not permitted on the property. Evidence of the above will result in the loss of your $500 deposit. In addition, any damage will be charged to you. The safety of our guests, our home and our neighbors are of utmost importance to us. Our home is only suitable for the guests confirmed in the reservation who wish to have a low-key gathering or celebration. -No pets allowed -No smoking of any kind in the house -Maximum overnight guest count is 8, this includes small babies and children. There is at no time more than 8 people allowed on the property, unless previously arranged and approved by host. -If your overnight guest count exceeds the number of guests stated in your reservation or exceeds 8 people, be advised a $100 per person, per night fee will be charged in advance or taken out of your deposit after the fact. -No daytime visitors allowed beyond the number of people stated at booking. Unless previously arranged and approved by host. -No overnight guests outside of confirmed number at booking. -At no time, day or night is more than 10 people allowed on the property. -Please be thoughtful of our neighbors, you may not see them but they are in ear shot. No loud music or yelling outdoors between 10pm-9am. - Absolutely nothing is to be put on the pool table except for pool balls. Do not place drinks on the edge of the table. You will be charged for any damage to the pool table frame or felt top -Children and infants are welcome. However, please be sure to note that the house is not in any way childproofed. There are two flights of stairs and a swimming pool that could be hazardous. We are not responsible for any injuries. We don't offer any family amenities such as high chairs, cribs, pack and plays or baby gates. -The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Please note that the pool is not heated. With the use of our solar cover, it usually reaches a comfortable temperature by mid-June until end of August. Anything outside of those dates are left to Mother Nature as the air temperature greatly affects the pool water temperature. -A one-time reservation change is allowed but will incur a $100 change fee. No further changes will be accepted. All changes must be made 14 days or more prior to check-in otherwise will not be approved.
