Welcome to The Hawthorne! Original charm meets stylish convenience. Enjoy the entire main floor of this large character home that has been lovingly converted into a duplex. Equipped with large bedrooms, full bath, full kitchen, comfortable living room, in-unit laundry, separate office/exercise room, and two dedicated parking spots (on street also available). Conveniently located in the historic Hawthorne neighborhood & only blocks to downtown Fargo! *Summer 2026: front porch is being remodeled. The space You’ll have the entire main floor of this historic character home to yourself. This large home built in 1900 has been converted into a duplex. There is a separate entrance directly off the back side of the house and just steps from the parking spaces. With multiple sleeping options, great location, and free parking, this place has been ideal for families, small groups, and the single travelers. **Summer 2026: please note that the front porch is currently being renovated and may not be accessible during your stay. BEDROOMS: This unit has two large bedrooms. One bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has a twin-over-full bunk and a second full sized bed. Additional air mattress and fold-out bed available upon request. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS/ OPTIONS: - queen bed in one bedroom - twin-over-full bunk bed and second full-sizes bed in second bedroom - sofa available for extra space to sleep; additional twin air mattress or single sleeping cot available upon request. LIVING ROOM: There is a large living room with a full-sized sofa, love seat, and extra chairs. Large coffee table, board games, children’s books, and puzzles too! 55” TV with streaming options for TV and movies. TV/STREAMING: You will have live TV channels, a large selection of streamable movies, and a Roku connected with an adapter to allow you to BYOSD (bring your own streaming device). BATH/LAUNDRY: The oversized bathroom has a full tub and shower, large vanity, full-length mirror, and a laundry area w/washer and dryer. KITCHEN: In the kitchen, you’ll have a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, electric oven/range, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, crockpot, blender, hot water kettle, slow cooker, cookware, bakeware, dishes, flatware, etc. PANTRY ESSENTIALS: cooking oils, seasoning, condiments. OFFICE: For an added bonus, there is an extra room equipped with a full desk area to work and/or space to exercise (yoga mat, free weights to use). This can also be used as a third bedroom when using the roll-out bed option. OUTDOOR GRILL: Guests have access to use a full-sized gas barbeque grill, directly off the back entry. There are grill utensils in the kitchen. There is also use of a large private picnic table with umbrella during the summer months. PARKING: Guests have two dedicated parking spaces that are directly behind the house and steps away from the private entrance. There is free street parking also available. ***Guests with large trucks or SUVs may need to park your vehicle on the street if too large for the parking spaces to avoid blocking the alley way. Contact host if questions on parking.*** ACCESSIBILITY: This older home does have some stairs. This main level unit is easily accessed by walking up two wooden steps with a railing at the back door entrance. Once inside the door, the entire unit is on one level. The main entrance also has a small set of four concrete steps with a handrail to walk onto the front porch and enter through the main entrance. PETS: We are furry-friend-friendly. :) Dogs and cats are allowed, but must be approved by the host. Please message host with the size and breed of pet you’re requesting to bring (some restrictions). Please keep your pets off of sofas and beds. If your dog/cat is not house-trained, they must be kept in a kennel or crate while inside the unit to avoid messes. Unfortunately, no. This is against booking policy for AirBnB and we need them to book using their own account. Message the host if you have specific questions on this requirement. - Why do I need to include a number of guests on my reservation? We need an accurate guest count upon booking and before check-in for a number of reasons. We need to ensure we have the unit stocked with enough supplies, and for insurance and safety purposes, we need to know how many people are staying in the unit in case of an emergency. - Can I request an early check-in? You can certainly request an early check-in, but it is not a guarantee as we manage multiple properties. Message the host before your arrival and we'll be able to provide a more accurate response. - Can I request a late check-out? Unfortunately, this is difficult to accommodate as it can delay us getting to clean all of our properties in a timely manner for the next guest. Please consider staying an extra day and checking out this wonderful city! - Can I message the host before I book and before my stay? Yes! Please do! We want to ensure you have all of the information you need before booking and before your arrival. So, please don't hesitate to direct message us with any questions! Guest access NO KEYS TO LOSE OR RETURN! Guests have access to the entire main floor unit. Guests will receive a unique access code for the entry doors to use during their stay. Other things to note We have created a space where we would feel comfortable staying and have incorporated the amenities we look for when we travel. We have tried to capture the charm of this old character home and marry it with modern conveniences. *Some to note: - SECURITY (secure doors, 24-hour security cameras on perimeter of the home, locking safe in bedroom) - PRIVACY (separate entrance to unit, blackout curtains) - SLEEP (fans, white noise machine, blanket & pillow options) - PARKING (2 spots & plenty of street parking) - WORK (separate office area & fast internet) - UNWIND (board games, puzzles, 55” TV with TV/movie streaming, and children’s books) - EXERCISE (space for light exercise, yoga mat and free weights) - CLEAN (freshly cleaned unit, air purifier, filtered water, complimentary cleaning supplies) - LOCATION (step East out the front door and walk a block to Island Park or go a couple more blocks and you’ll hit the Red River, and to the West 5 blocks is an easy walk to Downtown Fargo)
