You'll find Shady Lane Beach Cottage at the end of a private lane at the mouth of the East River. Walk along the sand and look for treasures, or swim in the warm waters of the Northumberland Strait.. Prefer kayaking or canoeing? Launch your craft from the beach and explore the local waterways. Enjoy the sunsets next to your own beach bonfire, and relax. The space If you’re looking for privacy and seclusion, you’re going to love our cottage. Situated at the mouth of the East River, our property is on 1.4 acres and is surrounded by forest. Enjoy your morning coffee on the beach, watching herons forage and eagles soar. Play lawn games in the large front yard, or spend the days looking for treasures on the sandy beach. Our cottage has three sleeping areas, and comfortably sleeps five. There is a small bedroom with one single bed, a larger bedroom with a king sized bed, and a sleeping porch with two single beds. The living area is spacious and bright, and is stocked with games and books for your family to enjoy. There is a full kitchen with everything you need to prepare your meals. There is a three piece bathroom with a stand-up shower, and an outdoor shower with hot water to rinse off the sand from the beach just steps away from the front door. Please note; this is a rustic cottage in a natural setting. You will most likely see the occasional ant or spider inside the cottage. We make all efforts to control insects, but we avoid using harmful chemicals. Guest access The entire cottage is yours to enjoy during your stay. We do have two locked sheds on the property that we use for storage. The rest of the property is yours to explore! Other things to note This is our beloved family cottage, so it feels lived in! We spend every weekend here in the off-season, and visit often in the summer. We hope that you love it as much as we do, and treat it with the respect it deserves!
