Description
Lovingly renovated cosy 16th century cottage with log burner, wealth of character and quiet location. The property offers a ‘boutique style’ stay with stylish furnishings, modern amenities, superior linens and toiletries. Situated close to the historic town of Bury St Edmunds and conveniently located to visit numerous picturesque Suffolk villages, country pubs, attractions with the coast reachable in just over an hour. The perfect retreat with scenic walks and wildlife right from the door step. The space The property offers two comfortable bedrooms one with a king size bed, the other with a double. The upstairs bedroom is particularly characterful and spacious. It has an en-suite full bathroom with twin sinks, roll top bath and separate shower. This bedroom is accessed via the staircase to the right of the fireplace. There are winder steps at the top and bottom of this narrow staircase. (See photos) The other bedroom is situated on the ground floor with direct access to the back door and courtyard patio area. There is an en-suite shower room offering easy access from this to the bedroom. The kitchen and separate scullery area offer 2 fridges, a dishwasher, microwave, electric hob oven and grill plus kettle, toaster and coffee machine. For longer stays we can offer access (by arrangement) to a washing machine in a laundry room next to the bathroom. The large lounge/dining room has a wood burning stove. Logs are provided for stays 1st Oct - 1st May. Guest access Guests will have exclusive access via the front and back door to the property. Parking for 2 cars is off road on the driveway to the right of the property. Gates from the driveway provide pedestrian access to the back door and rear courtyard seating area. The accommodation comprises of a large lounge dining room with the kitchen accessed from the dining area. Through another door on the ground floor you will find the downstairs bedroom, scullery area, with large Belfast sink ,dishwasher and double doors to the rear courtyard seating area. These double doors at the rear of the property allow step free increased access to the ground floor bedroom (there is a small threshold into the bedroom see photos) and shower room. From this scullery area you also access the downstairs shower room which is just opposite the bedroom. Upstairs accessed via a narrow staircase (see photos) is the 2nd large bedroom with walk in wardrobe. Walking through this bedroom you access the full bathroom. We do not allow dogs upstairs but the stone, brick and wood flooring throughout the downstairs of the property help accommodate muddy paws. Other things to note On arrival we provide a welcome hamper which includes bread, milk, butter, eggs and some additional local treats. You’ll also find tea, coffee and basic cooking condiments in our kitchen. We provide kindling, fire lighters and 10 logs for a 2 night stay (for longer stays - equivalent to an additional 5 logs per night). Further bags of 10 logs can be provided on request at a cost of £10 per bag. We welcome dogs over the age of one but do not allow dogs upstairs or on the soft furnishings. No other pets are permitted due to owners allergies.
