The space Clean, light-filled and tastefully decorated, The Cottage features two bedrooms with quality (and comfortable!) bedding, a spacious air-conditioned living area, and the kind of quiet that makes a good night’s sleep come easily. Other inclusions our guests love: free range eggs and fresh milk for your arrival. Sit under the stars of a night, fairy lights twinkling, or light the fire pit for toasty winter nights. Set on a 50-acre working farm, The Cottage enjoys peaceful surrounds and a gentle animal backdrop. Guests love seeing the Belted Galloway cattle, horses, chickens, sheep, and Darcy the pig roaming naturally as part of everyday farm life. Guest access The Cottage is privately positioned, giving guests a strong sense of space and seclusion while still being part of the wider farm. Settle in and spend most of your time at the Cottage or choose to explore the 50 acre property. Guests are welcome to access the Bales Bar, our communal hangout space — a relaxed spot for a game of darts or a wood-fired pizza. Exclusive use can be arranged if you’d prefer complete privacy. Animal encounters are organic and unstructured. There are no planned activities or scheduled interactions — guests simply enjoy seeing the animals as part of the everyday rhythm of farm life and can interact with them (with supervision) if they choose. For sweeping views, take a wander to the ridge top, where a picnic table offers a quiet place to watch the sun set over the Border Ranges. Host interaction is friendly but unobtrusive — guests are welcome to enjoy their stay independently, knowing help is available if needed.
