Calder Cottage

Located in the hills of Whakamarama on a lifestyle block approximately 6km from State Highway 2. Great for a relaxing getaway for the family including your pet. Fully fenced with views over our paddocks out to the Harbour. Continental Breakfast provided for short term stays, selection of tea, coffee & hot chocolate always available. Enjoy stunning sun and moon rises and the stars at night unspoiled by city lights. Watch the Tui feeding on the flaxes and the pheasants wandering the paddock The space * There are 2 bedrooms with queen size beds. * There is a heat pump and the cottage has double glazing making it lovely and cosy during winter, cosy throws and blankets to snuggle up in and watch the fog roll in. * There is a full kitchen - microwave, oven, fridge with a built in ice-maker, dishwasher, toasted sandwich maker, electric frypan, plenty of platters, cheese knives, wine & beer glasses. * Cereal, milk, bread & spreads provided for short term stays (and eggs when our chooks are laying) * A selection of coffees, teas, hot chocolate & milk are always provided. * Full bathroom and washing machine/dryer. * There is ADSL Wifi - and reasonable cell reception. * There are plenty of books to read for adults & kids, board games, jigsaw puzzles, kids toys & games - and for outside - swing ball & pétanque as well as plenty of channels on the TV including 2 different sky channels each month. * The cottage is set away from the main house so you will have your own privacy, but we are close by if you need anything. Guest access Parking is easy and right outside the cottage. Access to the cottage is through a small gate to the right of the carpark and up the ramp to the ranchslider on the deck. The parking area is next to our business parking area so you will see/hear our vehicles. Other things to note There are 2 dogs on the property as well as chickens and sometimes a few curious cattle. We do run our Earthworks business from home so depending on the day you may hear our truck and machinery come and go. We are surrounded by a busy dairy farm and other lifestyle blocks so there is noise such as motorbikes, trucks, tractors, chainsaws, machinery.
