Cosy alpine getaway: Hundred Picket Chalet

The hills are alive!! The Hundred Picket chalet is set on a quiet hillside amid rolling pastures and offers a restful spot to explore this beautiful alpine region. Renovated by the owner/architect, the chalet provides generous, modern open spaces, ideal for a couple, a family or a small group of friends. The south view is graced by the Videmanette and Rubli peaks and the northern one includes the historic Palettes farmhouse in its fields as well as the Vanil and Rodomonts mountain ranges. The space Two steps up from the courtyard you reach the entryway where you can shed outdoor clothes and shoes, pull on some slippers and enter the common spaces : a warm kitchen opens onto the dining and living area, with its wood burning stove. Upstairs you find two bedrooms and a bathroom with skylight and tub. The spacious main bedroom is perfect to exercise, practice yoga or meditate. It can also accommodate a crib and/or a child's bed. The small bedroom, with a skylight, can open on both sides onto the stairs and big bedroom thanks to two sliding panels, letting it feel like an open space loft or a cosy nest, depending on your mood and needs. Children between 2 and 16 years old stay for free, do not indicate them as additional guests but please do tell us about them. Guest access Your house sits on a courtyard defined by two houses on either side. It opens onto a private raised stone patio thanks to two windows with lower panels which open separately like barn doors. You can enjoy sitting on the patio or lounging on the grass. The courtyard is a shared space of passage, contemplation and respectful play. Other things to note We love it if you can stay several nights to enjoy the peace and beauty of our place, but if you can only stay a shorter time don’t hesitate to reach out to us. There is a laundry/storage room off the entryway which is free to use. The bathroom being under the eaves, the ceiling height in the shower may be tight for people over 6'2" or 185 cm tall. Stay with young children: The property is ideal for children: there is plenty of space to run around, build snowmen, sleigh down the hills or go bugs hunting. However, young children should aways be under adult supervision, thank you.
