Priory Meadow Cottage

A lovingly restored cottage featuring ancient stone walls and beams. Uniquely furnished inspired by Morocco and holidays in India. Three first floor bedrooms and one ground floor have king size beds which can be converted to two singles. Number 2 has an en-suite bathroom shared with Number 3. Number 1 has an en-suite shower room. Bedroom 4 doubles as the second living room. Another shower room is on the ground floor. Perfect for families, get togethers, yoga and wellness retreats. The space A long drive suitable for parking up to four cars leads you past the meadow garden to the sunny porch. White walls and creamy travertine stone floors throughout enhance the light and airy Mediteranean atmosphere. And multicoloured jewelled Moroccan lamp shades sparkle for your cosy evenings. To your right the dining room has a refectory table seating eight. Two gothic chairs can be placed at each end for extra visitors. Next the newly fitted kitchen, antique white with aged Spanish tiles and exposed brickwork has quality crockery and cutlery supplied for eight guests. A comprehensive set of non stick saucepans and frying pans, oven ware and dishes are in the cupboards next to the cooker. Also a fridge, dishwasher, induction hob, extractor hood, oven, electric kettle, toaster and a microwave oven. The back door opens into the private garden which is still being improved after our two years of house renovations! The quirky access to the ground floor shower room is through the under stairs door! It also provides space for an additional fridge freezer, useful for larger parties and longer holidays. To your left is the cosy sitting room. Beware of the low doorway, an Indian door pelmet is there to warn you! Ancient stone walls and beams, two settees and two armchairs, a wood burning stove and a TV. We do not supply wood at the moment but you are welcome to bring your own. Next is bedroom No 4 THE STUDY. It has twin beds which can be put together to make a king size bed by prior request. They are usually arranged as settees with lots of Indian cushions, a peaceful space to escape in comfort to read, use your phone or laptop or maybe study! The steep staircase opposite the front door has an optional gate for dogs or small children. You will find handrails on both sides. We do not allow pets in the bedrooms. This is a necessary rule for hygene and the benefit of future guests. The south bedroom No.1, MARRAKESH. King size bed. Converts to singles at special request for yoga retreats or similar events. Ensuite shower room, basin, WC, towel radiator, aged Spanish tiles. Bedside tables with Moroccan lamps, dressing table with mirror and chair, luggage stand, coat hooks and hangers. The middle bedroom No.2, ZANZIBAR. Amenities the same as No.1. Bathroom can be shared with No.3, great for kids with parents in bedroom No. 3 or can use the downstairs shower room. The north bedroom No.3, CASABLANCA. An antichamber with coat hooks and hangers leads to the bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom is a surprise, a purple carpet and crystal wall lights. Amenities are the same as bedrooms 1 and 2. The ensuite bathroom has a small size bath with shower, basin and WC. Guest access The cottage has it's own drive and front garden The back garden is accessed by the owners but otherwise for the use of the guests. Other things to note The village has three pub/restaurants, coffee shop, fish and chip shop, Indian takeaway and the Co Op open till 10pm every day.
