House in Cévennes with wonderful views

In a Cévennes hamlet near Saint-Hippolyte-du-Fort, a south-facing house with a large terrace overlooking the valley: a total immersion in the landscape and an infinite view. The house has a very metaphysical soul and a very authentic setting, it is a quiet hamlet in the pure Cevennes peasant tradition. With a very mild and airy climate in summer, it is an ideal place to rest, read or write, but also to explore: cultural visits, markets, flea markets, and hikes. The space The house is about 100 m2, with a single-story bedroom on a large living room of 34 m2, overlooking a terrace of 35 m2. The other 2 bedrooms, very spacious, are upstairs. Our tip: although it has 3 bedrooms and more than 6 beds, this place is ideal for 2 to 4 people who are looking for space and calm, to relax or write a book for example... As you can see from the photos, this family house has been restored in a very authentic but functional style (stone sink, porcelain and bakelite sockets, little plastic), far from the modern amenities we are used to. The bathroom and toilet are in the lower part of the house: the shower is in an old stable, rudimentary but with a lot of charm (see the comments that are very telling). Outdoor spaces: the terrace, a lunch area in the shade in the large common courtyard, a plot below in the shade with hammock. Located at an altitude of 500 m, the climate remains quite airy even in hot weather. Two bedrooms are nevertheless equipped with fans. Guest access The entrance to the house is through a courtyard common to the other houses of this family hamlet. There is a parking space for one car, but it is also possible to park along the road to avoid maneuvering. Other things to note The beautiful terrace of the house is high (about 5-6 m). It is surrounded by a wall 70-80 cm high (see photo). This configuration implies the greatest vigilance: the place is therefore not recommended for young children who are not used to it. In order to respect the calm of the hamlet, it is not allowed to have parties or noisy activities. But it is of course possible to receive friends or have dinners while respecting the calm of the 3 surrounding houses. Unfortunately, it is forbidden in summer to make a fire (BBQ or fireplace) inside and out (municipal decree). Similarly, the utmost vigilance is required of smokers, both inside and outside the house.
