Curlew Barn is a delightful retreat set in the grounds of our family home. It is a lovely base from which you can explore the fabulous area of West Norfolk. The barn offers open plan living with kitchen, dining and lounge, a separate bedroom with brand new comfy superking bed added in October 2025 and a luxurious bathroom. You will find us up a 'no through lane' surrounded by fields and close to the Marsh. We are 2 miles from the busy village and a short drive from historic Kings Lynn. The space As you enter Curlew Barn you will see the kitchen on the left, with walk in pantry, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and cooker. The kitchen looks out onto a small wooded area with bug house and bird box. On the right is the lounge and dining room. The lounge area has a Joules 3 seater sofa, TV and guest information folders. (Please note, we do not have an aerial for the TV, WiFi is available so you would be able to watch iPlayer, netflix etc if you have accounts). The dining room has a two seater dining table and looks out onto our garden. Walking from the lounge you enter the bedroom (please note there is no door between these two rooms). The bedroom is a light and airy space with comfy superking bed, bamboo clothes rail and chest of drawers. There is a set of french doors which takes you to your secluded courtyard garden where you will find a table and chairs and a swing. Back into the bedroom and you will find the bathroom with shower, toilet, basin and shelf unit. (Please note we are on a septic tank, therefore we ask that only toilet paper is flushed down the toilet. There are feminine hygiene bags available which can just be placed in the bathroom bin). There is also a locked door which houses the boiler and hot water cylinder. Guests do not have access to this. (Please note there may be a slight low 'hum' when the boiler is on) Other things to note We live opposite a farm yard and therefore you will hear farm machinery noise when they are working, mainly during harvest time which starts anytime in July for a few weeks (weather dependant). Tractors, sprayers and bailers etc will go past from time to time during the year. If they are harvesting in the field next to us the farmer is very good and always lets us know so we can close windows, get inside etc as the dust does come over, it only lasts a few hours but is amazing to watch. We will always try to let you know if harvest is due. Farm 'smells' will also occasionally be in the air when they are fertilizing the land. We do not have an aerial for the TV but do have WiFi; Netflix, iPlayer etc are accessible if you have the appropriate accounts. Mobile phone coverage is patchy so phone calls may have to be made outside. As this is our home you will see our two boys playing in the garden from time to time and you will often see our three dogs chasing after the ball or wandering around. The dogs will not be out unless we are. All three are friendly but will bark when they see you, especially for the first time. We have treats in your property for you to give them, this will win them over.
