Eco apartment in Bishop Auckland

Solar powered quiet & cosy retreat. Central Bishop Auckland: 5 minute walk to train & bus station, shops, cafes, supermarkets plus magnificent Auckland palace, gardens, park, tower, Mining Art Gallery, Spanish Gallery & Faith Museum. 20-40 minutes walk to Kynren turnstiles at 11 Arches Park or use shuttle bus. On Northern Saints & Camino Inglés pilgrimage routes. 30 mins drive or bus/train to Hamsterley Forest (MTB trails), Locomotion, Raby Castle, Barnard Castle, Darlington & Durham . The space The apartment was fully renovated in 2023 with super insulation and solar panels. The front room faces the shopping street and the quiet bedroom is at the back. You have a private entrance at ground level, with entrance hall providing secure bicycle storage. All the main rooms are up one flight of stairs, which has hand rails on both sides. Guest access You have full private access to the whole flat. There is no garden / private outdoor space - but you are just 5 minutes walk from the castle grounds, deer park, woods and riverside walks. Infants and young children are welcome but be aware this is an upstairs flat with open plan kitchen/living room. The entrance door at the top of the stairs is a fire door. It is heavy to open and should prevent a child opening it, but parents must supervise children around the stairs. Other things to note You can load/unload from a private vehicle right by the door to the apartment. You cannot leave your vehicle unattended there for more than 5 minutes. There is a free allocated parking space 2 minutes walk from the door. The flat's living room faces the street which can become a little lively at night and weekends with people socialising but it is very well lit and safe to walk out at night. You can shut the living room door sleep in the peace of the bedroom at the back.
