Our gorgeous country cottage offers authentic style combined with modern comforts. A warm and cosy wood fire with plush leather sofas and comfortable recliners a great place to relax or enjoy with friends. Two split systems offer year round comfort. Fully equipped kitchen and large bathroom. Beautiful space to unwind. Ideal stopover between Melbourne & Sydney just off Hume. Centrally located, close to Beechworth, Glenrowan, Milawa, Rutherglen , Eldorado and just 10 min drive to Wangaratta. The space Welcome to The Nook Cottage Farmstay, a tranquil retreat nestled on 300 acres of a working sheep and cattle farm, with 360 views of the majestic North East. This charming home offers 3 bedrooms , ideal for families, couples or small groups. Large windows overlook the farm. All bedrooms boast comfortable beds and quality linen. Strictly no pets, service or support animals allowed. Other things to note Just a short stroll or drive up the hill we have a great viewing area with seating, where you can take some drinks & nibbles and watch the stunning sunsets with 360 degree views. There is an outdoor area with chiminea, wood supplied, where you can sit and watch the sunset and enjoy a local glass of wine, and perhaps toast some marshmallows which are also provided. (not to be used during fire season). The cottage has no Wifi, time to unplug and enjoy nature. Please be water wise as we are a rain water property only. There is no smoking inside. We have cattle, sheep, calves,pony , geese, canaries, chooks (feel free to collect the eggs),guinea fowls (who can be a tad noisy at times). We also have our own bees that are housed outside of the house yard and a sample jar is left for you to try. In lambing season (August-October)we will often have poddy lambs to bottle feed. We currently have poddy calves we are feeding.(Nov-onwards)Take time to enjoy nearby towns Rutherglen (30 mins drive), Beechworth (30 mins drive), Glenrowan (30mins drive), Milawa Gourmet Region (30 mins drive). Pan for gold in Eldorado only a 10 minute drive which also features Victoria’s smallest pub, The McEvoy Tavern, great meals and the historic Eldorado dredge. Our cottage is located in a beautiful region with many eateries/wineries close by. We are located just off the Hume Freeway 10 mins out of Wangaratta, we are located at the end of the dirt road, which is only 1km.
