The space What I love about my space is that it is very close to the ocean (across the street) and very close to the town (about three blocks). There are restaurants, groceries, shops, services, attractions all within a short walk. Guest access There are several little snorkeling spots with public beach access within 5 minutes of the studio. Other things to note Vieques Island is a separate island, located off the main island of Puerto Rico and accessed only by small planes or ferry. Puerto Rico is in the tropics. It has two seasons; tropical monsoon (wet summers) and tropical savanna (dry winters). Complaints can happen in monsoon season when travelers from other regions don’t research the seasons and seek travel tips. When traveling in monsoon season expect it to be hot, humid and buggy. Pack plant based fabrics. Leave synthetic fabrics at home. Carry repellent with you at all times. We live with cockroaches, sugar ants, fire ants, mosquitoes, centipedes and a variety of spiders. When you open a door or window they accept the invitation to enter. We have feral dogs, cats, horses, chickens. Throughout the islands Roosters start crowing at the crack of dawn, signifying it’s time to start working. Mid-morning when it’s getting hot, they go back to bed. I imagine they wonder why people are working. When it cools off roosters get back up for a second round of work while the people are dealing with heat rash and sun stroke. If you expect things here to be like they were where you came from, you may be highly disappointed. However, if you travel to experience other cultures, see how things are in different parts of the world and learn from observing customs and nature, you might be highly pleased.
