Relaxing Riverside Mountain Home

🌲Relax with family or dear friends at our peaceful riverside retreat in the Cuchara Valley. Abundant nature just outside the door. Tree-filled views of wildlife, flowers, clear skies, & the Cucharas River from the back deck. Moments from outstanding hikes, fishing, bird watching, mtn biking, kayaking, discgolf, tennis, geocaching, minigolf, horseback, & the village of Cuchara. Blue & Bear Lakes, DikesTrail, Cuchara Mtn Park, Spring Creek Trail, Farley Overlook, Cordova Pass, Monument Lake, etc. The space Downstairs main bedroom: adjustable king bed with en suite bathroom (accessible from living area and bedroom). Upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom: one room has 3 twin bunk beds and an additional floor mattress if desired; the other bedroom has a king sized bed. Ceilings are sloped in both rooms. Main living area downstairs has a couch and three comfy chairs. Dining table seats 4. Kitchen counter comfortably seats 4-5. There is a detached garage apartment on site and it may periodically be occupied by our family or another guest. We will let you know if that will be the case. Your group is welcome to rent the apartment if you need more space or privacy during your stay. There is a trampoline at the house. Please use it responsibly. The nearest hospital is about 45 minutes away in Walsenburg. 😅 Note: AWD or 4x4 vehicle and potentially some snow shoveling may be required between October to May! Trust us on this one. ❄️🏔️ Guest access River bank (from green stake to green stake), front and back decks, whole “main” house. No access to the garage or garage apartment unless the garage apartment is rented simultaneously by the same guest renting the main house. We will let you know if the apartment is reserved for any length of time during your visit. No access to neighbors’ properties. Other things to note We do not have a fenced yard. Well behaved, house-trained dogs may be allowed on a case by case basis, but they should be leashed while outdoors. 🐾 We have a neighbor who lives directly across the river. He is a wildlife photographer and appreciates the peace and quiet of our shared river and trees. Please respect our neighbors' privacy and our property boundaries. No more than 2 dogs allowed in our home. It can be chilly at 9,000 ft in the mountains, even in July or August! Plan to layer up and embrace the cool mountain air. 🧥 We let the grass grow on parts of our property to encourage biodiversity and so the wildlife has food & native habitat. Please don’t expect a manicured lawn. ☺️ We have a garage apartment available for an additional fee if your group needs a private, separate bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette on site. Feel free to inquire about availability of our “Little Bohemian Gnome Home.” Also, note: AWD or 4x4 vehicle and potentially some snow shoveling may be required during late fall, winter, & early spring months. ❄️🏔️ Trust us on this!
