Description

A comfortable room and en suite, with its own patio and separate private entrance, in a historic home at the heart of the Devon estuary town of Topsham. It's perfect for a short visit - we're 200 metres from the water, a stroll from beautiful 18th century houses, and much closer to restaurants, cafes and boutique shops. Or stay longer at this ideal base for exploring the Cathedral city of Exeter and seaside haven of Exmouth, each an easy journey by car or train. We're happy for one dog to stay. The space You will have a private room and en-suite which is locked off from the rest of the house. You also have a private outside space, used only by you. One of our reviews said "Such a perfect location. 5 minutes from the station, right in the centre of town & all the amenities, yet very quiet. Two minutes from the riverside with its lovely walks, just perfect for us as we didn't take a car. Helen's place was immaculate with everything supplied, including great quality towels & bedding. The lovely courtyard was a bonus, so nice to have your own private outdoor space. Helen was very helpful & was a very friendly host. We thoroughly recommend The Heart of Topsham & will definitely rebook sometime in the future. Guest access There are no shared spaces - everything you have access to, is private to you. During your stay I will always be contactable if you need me in case of an emergency and will leave my phone number in the room. Other things to note We don't have private parking. You can park in Fore Street free for an hour to unload. There are four car parks in Topsham, all pay and display: 1. Opposite the entrance to Swains Court (called Matthews Hall car park); 2. At Topsham Quay (go down to the end of Fore Street - this car park is extended in size for six months of the year); 3. Holman Way (turn left at the end of Fore Street - a short walk from Swains Court); 4. The Lord Nelson pub on High Street just before you come into Fore Street. Additionally there is pay and display street parking on Holman Way and Parkview Way, each a short walk from Swains Court.
