Welcome to No.2 By the Fields, an authentic Norman longhouse dating from 1789, carefully renovated to offer a rare balance of authenticity, comfort, and elegance. Set among the fields in a peaceful, unspoiled setting, it offers 160 m² designed for rest, reconnecting, and memorable shared moments. Here, every stone tells a story. And that story follows you from the moment you step inside, because the D-Day beaches are just a short drive away: Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, and Arromanches are all easy to reach from the house. You stay at the heart of a unique place of remembrance, where the Norman landscape meets history with rare intensity. The ground floor is arranged around four spacious living areas, filled with light and generous volumes. The main lounge invites convivial moments, while a second, English-style lounge offers a more intimate space, with a TV, foosball table, and a large desk for comfortable remote work thanks to high-speed fiber internet. The kitchen, spacious and fully equipped, is a living space in its own right. From a quick breakfast to a generous dinner, it comfortably hosts up to 8 guests in a warm and refined atmosphere. Upstairs, the sleeping area consists of two elegant master bedrooms, each with premium 160 x 200 bedding for deep, restorative sleep. Two additional bedrooms, fitted with 90 x 200 single beds and the same high-quality mattresses, offer the same level of comfort for both children and adults. The bathroom, bright and well-appointed, includes a bathtub-shower, a toilet, and a double lava-stone vanity. A second separate toilet with sink completes the layout on the ground floor. Outside, the large enclosed garden extends the experience of the house. A barbecue, a swing, and lunches in the shade of the large parasol all invite you to enjoy the gentle pace of sunny days in a peaceful, generous setting. La Cambe lies within the Bessin bocage, a distinctly Norman landscape that is both understated and deeply calming. Guest access Full access to the entire house and garden. The room next to the kitchen will not be accessible, as we store our personal belongings there. Other things to note We’re close to a few farms, so you might hear Léon the peacock or Marguerite and Rosalita the cows. In fact, they might even come to graze by the fence. Since we’re in the middle of the countryside, you might also find a few spiders seeking the coolness of the old stones. For babies or young children, a travel crib, a high chair, and baby dishes are available in the house.
