The space "No.2 By the Fields", an authentic longhouse in the heart of history Welcome to this beautiful Normandy longhouse from 1789, completely renovated with care to combine authenticity, comfort and elegance. Nestled in the heart of the fields, in a peaceful natural setting, it offers you a space of 160 m² designed for rest, reunion and discovery. Here, every stone tells a story. And the one at the landing beaches starts… on the doorstep. Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, Colleville American Cemetery or Arromanches are just a few minutes away. You are at the nerve center of the D-Day heritage, a place of memory unique in the world. The ground floor is home to four vast living rooms where light, generous volumes and noble materials reign. The large living room invites conviviality, while a second English-style living room offers a relaxation area with TV, foosball and a large desk to work remotely with peace of mind (fast fiber connection). The kitchen, spacious and fully equipped, is ready to meet all your culinary cravings, from breakfast on the go to raclette with friends. It can accommodate up to 8 guests for a warm meal. Upstairs, the sleeping area consists of two stylish master bedrooms with high-end bedding (160x200) for deep and restorative sleep. Two additional large bedrooms, equipped with 90x200 single beds and the same quality mattresses, will accommodate children or adults in the same comfort. The bathroom, bright and refined, has a bath/shower, toilet and double lava stone vanity. A second toilet with sink is available on the ground floor. Outside, a large enclosed garden invites you to enjoy the beautiful days in peace: barbecue, swing, moments shared in the shade of the large parasol... the Normandy countryside invites itself into your daily life. Only 3 minutes from the village of La Cambe and its local shops (butcher, wine cellar, pharmacy, small grocery store), No.2 By the Fields is an invitation to the sweetness of Normandy life, as close as possible to history. The room next to the kitchen will not be accessible as we store our private belongings there. Other things to note We are close to a few farms so you may hear Léon the peacock or Marguerite and Rosalita the cows. In fact, it is not impossible that they come to graze at the fence. Being in the countryside, it is also possible that a few spiders will come looking for the freshness of the old stones. For infants or young children, a crib, high chair and baby dishes are available in the house. It will be up to you to provide the sheets for the crib. ***The cleaning fee is offered as an option at the rate of €160. If you wish to benefit from this, please let us know before your arrival.
