Mountain Modern Cabin Sleeps 8-10, Wardner, BC

We welcome you to our holiday home, called "The Gathering Place". 4 bedrooms sleeps 8 & all queen-sized beds. We can sleep up to 10 on inflatable beds, a portable mattress and extra large couches. Great hiking, biking, golfing, boating, skiing, snowmobiling and more! We are in the middle of 2 ski hills - the Fernie Mountain and family friendly ski hill in Kimberly. Bring along your snowmobile or side by side to explore the back country! Lake Kookanusa is the main summer attraction. The space OUR HOME: This is our family home away from home and we welcome you to enjoy our space. There are 4 bedrooms (2 upstairs and 2 down) all with queen sized beds. We can sleep up to 10 with a single sized inflatable bed, a single portable regular mattress and we have 2 extra large couches, that are better than any pull out bed! We have all the conveniences a home should have. A large refrigerator with ice and water, dishwasher and gas stove, a good-sized island to entertain around, and we have an expanding dining table that easily seats 6-8 with an extra leaf for more. The primary (main) bedroom has a small ensuite, there is a separate bathroom on main floor, with a shower for the 2nd bedroom guests. If you need to work, there is access to wi-fi thru Starlink, we have a designated stand-up desk complete with 2 monitors for you to use. There are 2 TVs to enjoy if you need some down time and want to watch Netflix. No one likes doing laundry but if you need to do a load or 2, we got you. As well, there is a pool table to use. We have a 6 person hot tub and an amazing outdoor shower! We have a big mudroom to store your belongings, but you will not have access to the garage. Guest access OUTDOOR LIVING: We can’t wait for you to see the view from our large, covered deck. Bull mountain is our backdrop, and we often see deer hanging in our yard or literally looking through our front door! The outdoor family space is the perfect place to relax, if its chilly grab a blanket and use the fire table to take the chill off, we have comfortable seating, and an outdoor table/dining area that seats 6 people. Our outdoor kitchen is perfect if you are into BBQ-ing, and the best place to have breakfast to enjoy the views at the hightop table that seats 6-8! Outdoor activities include, ping pong, air hockey and 6 person hot tub. Unfortunately, there is no fire pit available to use. Other things to note THE AREA: This area is full of awesomeness. There is a ton of great hiking trails, if its winter bring your snowshoes, you won’t be disappointed! If you are into biking, there is a bike trail that will take you right into Cranbrook. Ski at Fernie Mountain or Kimberly. Oh, you like golf, there are some great options for that too! A short drive down the hill into the town of Wardner you can launch your boat. There is no boat access in Osprey Landing. A short walk to the water you can go swimming, paddle board, fish, throw rocks or just sit and enjoy watching the eagle’s fish down by the lake. The lake has easy access, it is a short walk down to the water. Walk to the top of the driveway, take a left and walk past the property with a 'boat' house, just past this and on your left is a path down to the water. You can not take your vehicle down the path. The docks are privately owned and you can find a spot at the end of the road for your lawn chairs. The water level will affect this seating area. THINGS TO SHARE: This is our home, and we are happy to share it with you and all we ask is to treat our special place with the respect you would treat your own home. This is a quiet development and not a place to hoot and holler. Quiet time starts at 10pm and please note kids are often out playing and the SPEED LIMIT is 30km. You will notice the cupboards are not bare and we ask if you use something up, to please let us know so we can replace it. If by chance something does not work, call us, we will make it right. If you have an accident or something gets broken, that’s ok stuff happens, we won’t cry but you may have to buy. We are so close to Fernie, 40 minutes to be exact and Kimberly and Cranbrook are 25 mins away. They have all the amenities that small towns offer.
