Guests enjoy ample garden space, a fully equipped kitchen and daytrips to Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza, Arezzo, Siena, Cortona and more. A one room cottage featuring handmade terra cotta tiles as floor and roof. Charming cypress window frames, brick archways and a large glass door complete the picture. We pride ourselves on a traditional old-fashioned European hospitality. Our linens are high quality, 100% cotton, and ironed by hand. Dishes are selected for practicality and character. Furnishings are simple with a mix of contemporary and antiques. Sharp knives, good pots and pans, and a complete dining set complete this independent residence. As was recently highlighted in the New York Times, we are just 15 minutes North of Pienza, a hilltop town redesigned in 1400 by Pope Pius as a retreat from Rome and the ideal Renaissance town. It is a Unesco World Heritage sight and the origin of sheeps-milk cheese called Pecorino. The Val D'Orcia is a jewel of Tuscany - offering guests an experience of remote pastoral country living along with incredible architectural, artistic and cultural excursions. Gastronomic marvel of the world, Tuscany is home to the Chianti region and Olive Oil of the area is known for it's region. You may find a tractor on the way to your tour of a 18th century Monastery! A large outdoor sitting area with lush plantings and views of nearby hills and valleys. Other things to note We are located about .5 km from a paved road. The property is a working farm with some comings and goings of staff, so not completely isolated, but quiet for most of the day....and at night. Kitchen is stocked with salt, pepper and olive oil. But breakfast goods and any other basics, are not provided. Check-in is from 15,00 - 20,00 (3-8 PM). Please advise us of your arrival time so that we can be sure to be available. Check-out is at 10,00 AM. Please see the document inside the casina for further instructions. The Italian law establishes that those who host guests must inform the police of their presence. For this reason, every guest must show a passport or other photo document. This is a condition of the reservation and must be fullfilled in accordance with regional hospitality rules, national Italian law as established in association with AirBandB.com.
