Riverfront Cottage with Hot Tub & Kayaks

This is a small private waterfront cottage located in a park like setting with a wonderful view of the Maumee River. It is ideal for a couple's get-away. This is a one room 16'X20' studio apartment which includes a separate bathroom and two sleeper sofas that pull out into double sized beds with double mattresses for comfort. The entire cottage was remodeled in 2020 and has a new kitchen and a new bath. In addition to the free use of kayaks, there is a 10 mile walking trail withn 50 feet . The space The best features of this cottage are obvious: You are situated in the middle of nature, in a relatively new cottage (opened Oct 2019), with a wonderful view of the river. This is river front property and access to the river comes along with your use of the cottage. This is an entirely different experience than staying in the center of town. The location gives it a value that goes beyond an urban setting. In the area are one of a kind restaurants, 10 miles of walking trails, and an old grist mill in Grande Rapids. In season there are local festivals, famous walleye fishing, and barge rides on an old canal, just to name a few. For the sake of those who come after you: Well trained dogs are welcome. Cats are best left home since other people may be allergic to them. Smoking is limited to outside the building. Guest access The entire cottage and river front property comes with the rental. Other things to note COTTAGE INS AND OUTS The river soil can be unstable at times, and occasionally a guest will run over the septic vents, breaking them, so parking is limited to the gravel parking area. Please avoid the grass. Well water is provided. It is safe to use, but for those less hardy souls, I would suggest bringing bottled water for drinking. The kitchen is well furnished for a rental cottage. Just search if you need something. A charcoal grill is provided with a chimney type fire starter. There is also a fire pit on the premises. Bring you own charcoal and wood. After a guest blew up a gas can, I decided to provide no flammables of any kind. I'm sure you understand :-) You have access to the river directly across the road from the cottage. A canoe and several Kayaks are provided, along with an occasional row boat and paddle boat. They are located at the end of the road and they are shared by other guests. Well trained dogs are welcome. Please clean up outside after your dogs. There is a one time fee which can be paid to Airbnb with your booking. Unfortunately, cats are not welcome. Many people are allergic to cats, (including me) and some are severely allergic. We need to think of the visitors who come after us.
