The space Furnishings, books and decor reflect my years of living and working in West and North Africa and the talents of artistic friends, and the family I come from. You enter through a large sun room with an 1860s conference table large enough for board and computer games and for work projects of all kinds. Books are for reading while you are here and reflect the recommendations of many friends specifically for this house. The sofa there is wide and long enough for sleeping and napping. The living room, kitchen and dining area, and master bedroom all have a view of the lake. Living room has two seating areas, a wood stove and open floor space. Bring your dance music and player if you like. Multtipurpose room was once a sleeping porch. It now has a kitchen, dining area, and seating area with a TV , rocking chairs, and a sleeping swing. As children we fought over who got to sleep there, and this is still an additional sleeping and napping option (twin bed). Round dining table made in the NC mountain in the 1950s seats 6-8 . For a festive event there is a special large (waterproof ) table cloth. The large table in the sun room can also seat 10. Arrange with the co-host for additional chairs and benches. Kitchen has spices and basic baking supplies and pots and pans for serious cooking. If you use a pantry item that may need replacement soon, please let us know and consider replacing it. Slow cooker, mixer, blender, and rice cooker are for your use. The large bedroom faces the lake and has a queen bed and a twin. The handicapped accessible bath with shower is attached to the master bedroom and a hall. Second bedroom is adjacent to smaller the bath with tub and has a double bed that traveled with my grandfather as a railroad road master; the doorways to this room are 28" wide. all others are greater than 32". Separate laundry room has washer and dryer, iron and ironing board if you want them. You'll find a clothes line in the entry carport. Kayak with life jackets for adults and children and grill are available. When your dogs aren't with you, they may stay in the kennel. Guest access Enjoy the house, grounds, boat launch, and dock. It is possible to launch a pontoon boat but it's not simple; other local residents do not leave their boats in the water overnight as there can be sudden fierce storms. There are a few cabinets and closets that belong to me, and these are marked as private. There are two other buildings on the property that are not part of the deal: a boathouse and a cabin near the water. If I'm here, I'll be in the cabin or on the patio there. Other things to note Since we are sharing our family home with you, guests are expected to complete the airbnb profile before reservations will be confirmed and indicate the number of guests who will be with you. Thank you. When you walk in there is a folder on the table with house information/instructions. Please let us know if you need anything during your stay 😊
