The Rocks: Gourmet Kitchen, Hot Tub, Wine Country

Enjoy the peace and quiet of the country while being only 5 minutes from downtown Atascadero. Rejuvenate in the natural light that floods this home. Dine alfresco, soak under the stars in the salt-system hot tub, and roast marshmallows over the fire table. The gourmet kitchen will inspire your inner chef. We share with guests our family home. It is filled with expressions of faith to promote peace and rest. We welcome all views, religions, & lifestyles even when different than our own. God bless The space The gourmet kitchen has a Viking gas range with six burners and 36” oven with industrial ventilation system and pot filler. Chefs will appreciate the ample counter space and find practically every kitchen implement at their disposal. Touch faucet makes it simple to clean up. Dining room seats 8 or more. Additional dining chairs and extension leaf are available upon request. Downstairs Front Bedroom has full length windows with views of the oak trees, room darkening curtains and a queen bed. Dresser and full closet for your items. There is also a pack-n-play in the closet. Downstairs Back Bedroom has a queen bed, two small dressers and full closet for your items. This room is adjacent to the main floor bathroom. Spacious main floor bathroom has a double vanity and shower/tub combo. Lots of fluffy bath towels as well as beach towels are located in the large linen cabinet for your use. Upstairs primary bedroom has generous adjustable split king bed, tv, dresser, walk-in closet and vanity for your items. Deck and stairs connect this room to the patio and hot tub. Adjacent master bathroom has dual controls with individual shower heads in the large tile shower. A glass vessel sink graces the vanity with a large mirror and plenty of counter space. Loft area has a full size bed and doubles as an office space with basic office supplies, printer and desk. Loft area is open with half walls, no doors. Living room has a couch and loveseat and allows comfortable conversation with those preparing meals in the adjacent kitchen or dining area. Family room has a large smart television and sectional sofa. Surround sound system with base bring movies alive via the blu ray/dvd player or streaming service on Roku. Closet has several board games, puzzles and cards. The back patio is great for entertaining with a large natural gas barbecue grill, dining area, fire table and comfortable outdoor seating. And of course, the hot tub with customizable lights, jets, and waterfall. A large outdoor Bluetooth sound system can also be provided upon request. Enjoy lawn games like badminton, Frisbee, tug-of-war, or catch with items located in the deck box on the back patio. Sit on the covered porch and watch the hummingbirds and lizards zip around the sage and flower garden surrounding The Rocks. During the summer: Take a walk through our extensive vegetable and herb garden. Enjoy seasonal produce grown right here. Items vary by season but can include strawberries, asparagus, peas, raspberries, lettuce, tomatoes, spinach, bell peppers, melons, green beans, potatoes, green onions and more. Snip fresh mint for your cup of iced tea or select from our herbs like oregano, parsley, dill, marjoram, sage and chives to enhance your gourmet meals. (Be sure to shut the gate to keep the deer from ransacking the garden!) Or take a moment to sit on the outdoor swing and listen to the birds sing their hearts out. Our sweet flock of hens love kitchen scraps and deliver fresh eggs on a daily basis. Kindly keep their doors securely shut to keep predators out. Property has a gate. We have ample on-site parking for your group. There is a separate unit on the property that is occasionally occupied by us/family. Should guests overlap with us/family staying in that separate unit, our Airbnb guests will be notified in advance. Our family home is filled with memories from our children growing up there. This is not a hotel. It is a home that has family photos, mementos and the echos of children’s laughter, milestones, birthdays, and the wisdom of generations that have lived with us. Family often comes through town and will stay at the house and so we have far more amenities than your typical Airbnb stays for you to enjoy. The pantry has cooking supplies and staples for baking. There are pantry basics, oils, vinegars and spices galore. We also have expressions of our faith throughout our home. Our faith brings us comfort and peace. Like our founding fathers, we believe that everyone has the right to their own beliefs and views. We accept all lifestyles, views and religions, even if they are different than our own. We hope you feel the same way. If expressions of faith make you or anyone in your party uncomfortable, we understand that we may not be the best fit. Guest access Main house and patio with surrounding lawn area as well as flower garden and raised-bed vegetable garden. Hosts occasionally stay in the detached garage apartment. Other things to note We have lots of wildlife in our area: birds, lizards, frogs, squirrels, and deer frequent our yard. The deer eat anything and everything so please keep the vegetable garden gate latched. We have a darling pair of quail starting their family this year, you can hear their sweet little cooing . Occasionally there are raccoons, possums, skunks, or (rarely) snakes. These predators keep the rodent population down and are an important part of our ecosystem but can also pose a threat to our chickens. Please be sure to keep our girls secured in their chicken run/coop at all times. They are sweet hens, but do not chase them or try to pick them up. When they are stressed, they do not lay as well. Their health and security are important to us.
