Welcome to our large cosy family-style cottage in the heart of the Blue Mountains! This pet-friendly retreat offers a tranquil escape with a leafy outlook and big fenced backyard. Enjoy the comforts of this lovely home with 2 large separate lounge spaces, 4 bedrooms, two bathrooms & laundry with washing machine in the main bathroom. The main bath boasts a large spa bath which is so very relaxing. The home has 2 wood fireplaces, fully-equipped kitchen & a lovely covered deck area with BBQ! The space Relax and have fun with the whole family and friends at this lovely bright, and cheery home backing onto native bushland. Poppies n Possums is welcoming and spacious with two large living areas (both with a huge couch and TV, and both with a combustion fireplace). Gas heaters in both areas too. It's an ideal setup for one or two families with kids or groups of friends to have their own space to unwind in comfort and everything you need for a fun relaxing or energetic getaway. If you like to cook, there is a fully-equipped kitchen, with everything and more you could need! The kitchen is located between the rear deck and the dining area - fabulous to chatter along as you cook and prepare, while being included celebrating with family and friends. A spacious undercover deck with a large gas BBQ, large table with 10 seats, 4 bar stools and great views of the native Australian bushland. It's also a great spot to enjoy breakfast or afternoon drinks and watch all the native birds - you'll see plenty of rosellas, cockatoos, galahs, king parrots, kookaburras. If you're lucky you might even spot a local ringtail possum, wallaby or kangaroo in the early morning or evening! Sitting in the back yard watching the sunset is a must! The sunlight shining on the beautiful gum trees is mesmerising. 2 bird baths make it fun to watch the wildlife fly around the garden. Feel free to take the chairs down to the back garden where a small timber picnic table sits. There is a large main bathroom and an ensuite with a walk-in double shower off the main rear bedroom. The spa bath (hot tub) in the main bathroom is a wonderful way to relax after exploring the many bush walks, hiking or walking in the sometimes sunny, brisk or snowy weather! Definitely perfect after rock wall climbing or even after a lovely afternoon visiting Megalong Winery or Drysdale Winery! Both a beautiful drive not far into the Megalong Valley. The house is only a 5 minute drive to Blackheath village cafes, restaurants, shops and galleries. If you prefer walking, there is a lovely bush trail down the bottom of Rob avenue, off to the left. You can follow it down into the bush, past the older water plant, across the creek and meander up through the bush until you meet a T intersection, head left into the village or turn right for a hike out to hanging rock and spectacular scenery. The back garden is fully fenced with lots of lawn area for dogs and kids to run around and play. You and your pets will absolutely love your stay! Guest access Guests are welcome to enjoy the entire house and gardens. There is off-street parking on the gravel driveway or plenty of free street parking directly in front of the house. Please don’t park on grass if excessive rain as it may become muddy. Other things to note Firewood is not supplied, but we do endeavour to keep some under the back deck in case you forget to bring some. Please bring fire starters if you prefer to use them. Some tea and coffee are available in the kitchen, but please stop off and grab some milk on your way if required. The Coffee Machine uses Aldi coffee pods.
