Bushland Getaway

Our home is a classic, character filled mud-brick house, which was originally built by your host in the 1980s. Set on 10 acres of natural bushland within an Environmental Living Zone, there is an abundance of native flora and fauna, making it perfect for bush walkers and nature lovers. It is a great place to relax and read a book by the fire, and also an excellent location for exploring the local area, including the wineries and restaurants of the Yarra Valley. Fire restrictions are in force. The space The property is split over three levels (app. 160m2), with an open living area and lots of natural light, which creates a vibrant, spacious atmosphere. As you enter through the top level, you will find a loungeroom with smart TV, two bedrooms, a bathroom, separate toilet, and laundry. Three steps will take you down to a dining area and full kitchen with dishwasher, slow combustion stove, and a coffee machine. On the lower level, you will find a loungeroom with open fireplace, master bedroom with walk-in-robe and ensuite, and a full length verandah offering spectacular views of the bushland and sunset. For your comfort, ceiling fans are located in each bedroom and there is a split system air-conditioner in the loungeroom. In the cooler months, guests will have access to an open fire place and central hydronic heating throughout (which is run by the slow combustion stove). Outside, you will find a paved area with a gas BBQ, a fire pit, and plenty of bushland to explore. Guest access Guests will have exclusive access to the entire property, with the exception of a locked storage room underneath the house and a shed located on the property. There is also ample off-street parking available at the property. Access around the house is good with ramps and steps to most external levels. Unfortunately, the levels within the property are accessible by stairs only and therefore may be unsuitable for individuals with wheelchairs or mobility difficulties. Other things to note The property is located in an Environmental Living Zone; strictly no domestic pets allowed. The property is also located in a high-risk bushfire area. When fire restrictions are in force (dates vary year to year) there is strictly no fires allowed, inside or outside the house. In the unlikely event of an extreme or catastrophic bushfire alert, access to the area will be restricted by the local authorities. If this occurs, your reservation will be cancelled and a full refund will be given. There is a maximum of 5 guests/visitors (including those on the booking, excluding infants) allowed on the property. Strictly no parties or large gatherings allowed. Please consider and respect our neighbours and refrain from loud music/noise between 10pm and 8am. For the security of our guests and the safety of our home, we have an external security camera facing towards the driveway/road. The property is in the Australian bush; you can expect flies, mozzies, spiders, and numerous other insects and critters outside. Please avoid leaving doors open, otherwise they will end up inside too! Larger animals such as birds, bats, possums, wombats, echidnas, and kangaroos can also be seen wandering around the property and can come close to the house and at times be noisy. The house runs on tank water. It is perfectly safe to drink, but is a finite resource so please use sparingly. Property is not suitable for young children. If you plan to book the property with children under 12, they are to be supervised at all times. Photo ID will be required in the name of the person booking on or before check in. Check-in time is between 2pm and 8pm. Your host will meet on you arrival. Check-out is by 1.00pm. We look forward to welcoming you to our home.
