Greystone at Twin Lakes
Greystone at Twin Lakes
Description
Enjoy a memorable visit when you stay in this unique place. An old family home brought up to 21st century. Originally a 1790s tavern. Colonial door latches, wide board floors, narrow steep staircase. A short walk down our driveway leads to our camp with 300' of the west shore of Washinee Lake (West Twin Lake). We are 10 miles from Lime Rock Park and Racetrack, close to private schools, and nestled in the beautiful foothills of the Berkshires. The space You’ll feel a part of history in our grandparents’ updated, inviting 1790s home. The house is situated against a limestone ledge, facing our 15 wooded acres that sit on the west shore of Washinee (West Twin) Lake. Guest access You have full access to the house with the exception of an attic used for family storage. Access to the beautiful lakefront on our property, shared with a few campers who have cabins by the lake. We supply canoe, rowboat, 2 kayaks. Other things to note The town of Salisbury, with its villages of Taconic (our village), Lakeville and Lime Rock and Amesville is a classic New England rural town. The town of Canaan is to our east, Massachussets to our north and New York State to our west. We’re about 20 minutes from the charming town of Great Barrington MA, and even closer to Millerton NY, with its access to the Harlem Valley Rail Trail, best bike trail in the area. Food and other stores are in the nearby town centers of Salisbury and Canaan.
