Originally a working manoir it has a spectacular "Pigeonnier" which is now left to the owls to inhabit. Although in the village it has a privacy and view which will make you feel alone in the most beautiful countryside. There are facilities for games but in the summer the pool dominates the day. The space The accommodation is designed for a family but in the summer can accommodate friends and pets. There are 4 double (3 king size beds) bedrooms, 2 of which are ensuite. There is also a twin room for youngsters and a cot is provided. In the upstairs hall there is a Futon and a single bed. So it is possible to sleep 13 but be aware that the bathrooms will need to be shared once you have more than 6 guests. More details Mongaudon Manoir is a characterful, detached self-catering holiday home with a private alarmed swimming pool and stunning valley views below. Set in a small hamlet on top of a hill, with a beautiful church just behind the property. The Manoir is set over 3 levels and offers great holiday accommodation for a large group of friends or 2 or 3 families. The attic rooms offer flexible space and are perfect for accommodating several children together. The house and facilities are exclusive to you during your stay. Note: the barn and pigeonnier are not used. Sleeping up to 10 adults over 5 bedrooms. Extra sleeping space for up to 3 additional children can be provided within an open plan area with a single bed and a double futon, this is charged as an extra £50 per person per week once over a group of 8. 1 cot and 1 highchair. Well behaved dogs are welcome. Upper floor - Attic Conversion Bedroom 4 Double bed, feature oak beams, 2 skylight windows, room fan, hanging space for clothes and chest of drawers Bedroom 5 Twin room with 2 single beds, skylight and room fan Additional space There is a large open-plan area in the attic. Extra sleeping space for up to 3 additional children can be provided within an open plan area with a single bed and a double futon, this is charged as an extra, per person per week, please see the Prices for more the cost. A small selection of children's toys has been thoughtfully provided by the owner so you don't have to cram all yours into a suitcase. Kitchen (ground floor) Family kitchen with a table and 6 chairs set on the ground floor opposite the family shower room. Dishwasher, single oven, halogen hob, 2 fridges, freezer, microwave, wine cooler, bread maker. Coffee - Paper filter type, Nespresso, cafetière. There is a raised covered terrace and BBQ area with a table and chairs just outside the kitchen with great views over the valley. Utility area (lower ground floor) Laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron/ironing board and washing line, set on the lower ground floor. Living Room (lower ground floor) The large sitting room is set over two levels and has a lounge area with sofas, a TV there is an HDMI input so you can use your own streaming service dongle, DVD Player, and fibre fed WiFi. Also, a smaller, more formal seating area focused around a feature open fireplace opening onto a 2nd terrace overlooking the garden and valley beyond. Moroccan style reading room A beautiful Moroccan furnished conversion of the bread oven outbuilding opens up to the main terrace. Overlooking the fish pond area and olive tree. Outside Beautiful large gardens that run right up to the vines with stunning views all around. Raised fish pond. Table tennis. Enjoy breakfast on the patio overlooking the fields and views or take lunch under the shady, covered veranda. BBQ, outside table and chair sets. A large mulberry tree gives shade from the summer sun. Pool The large private pool measures 10m x 5m, the shallow end is 0.8m deep and gradually slopes to approximately 2.15m. The pool is protected by an alarm, it is not fenced. Walk-in Roman steps gently ease into the pool at one end and is surrounded by a terrace with sun loungers and parasols. Cleaning/towels/linen Bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are included in the price. If you request a cot, please provide your own cot bedding/linen. Heating Electric heaters are installed throughout the house and there is an open fire in the living room. (on way out of Moissac towards the motorway) Other supermarkets are also in Moissac. Moissac, also just 15 minutes 15km, is a famous abbey town and is included in the World Heritage Site Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France. Wine and Gastronomy Visit some of the many local Caves and Chateau that offer free tastings and tours while you choose a bottle or two. Bordeaux This designated world heritage site is a must for all visitors. This cosmopolitan city offers a diverse range of attractions. The golden triangle has a fabulous range of shops for those shopaholics. 170km A rich variety of architecture forms the backdrop for the street cafes, restaurants, bars and not forgetting the superb Grand Theatre. Dordogne The Dordogne is just one of the many places to visit for day trips. Anything from Canoeing or boat trips on the Dordogne river to exploring ancient villages. Approximately 1-hour drive north. Markets Most nearby villages and towns hold weekly markets full of fresh and interesting local produce. An ideal place to pick up your holiday mementoes and gifts. The picturesque town of Monflanquin is just over an hours drive away. Evening "Marche Gourmands" are a great night out where you buy your food at the stalls and eat at communal tables. There is normally a local band or disco as entertainment, great fun for all the family! Swimming Lakes There are 2 popular swimming lakes not too far from the house – one in Montaigu de Quercy 24km and Montcuq 30km. Both have little places to eat and the swimming lake is clean with a beach also. Canoeing / Kayaking Flatwater canoeing, wakeboarding and waterskiing are available locally at Moissac just 17km. For those that are a little more adventurous take a drive of about 1 hr 20 mins to Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val (Chocolat was filmed here) where you can hire Kayaks and test your skills on the rapids and through beautiful gorges. Brilliant fun even without kids. Cycling The area is perfect for cycling, whether it's just a gentle ride around to explore or if you are a keen cyclist, a long training ride on fantastic stretches of road to get the blood pumping whilst taking in the fantastic views. Adventure Parks Parc Walibi, Agen: Local Theme park with rides for all ages, very young to teens. 42km Capnature Cahors. This tree-top adventure park has different levels, for young children to very fit adults! Cahors is good for vineyards and wine tasting for adults. 58km. Except the adjoining dovecote which is forbidden to guests because it is not furnished!! Other things to note The manor is a distinguished country house. The house was built 300 years ago and has withstood the tests of time with love and development. The pool has recently been re-lined and recovered. The internet has recently been upgraded to fiber, but the walls are thick stone so coverage is limited to near the connection in the main living room. 4G phone coverage is available in most rooms depending on the weather.
