French Country Estate

The Vitarel Estate is a newly restored property located in southwest France. This expansive property consists of three buildings with four independent dwellings: the main house and apartment, a cottage, and a studio. With four kitchens, five bathrooms, and five bedrooms, the estate offers ample space for comfort and relaxation for up to ten people. The Vitarel Estate boasts a traditional Quercy design with a modern interior equipped with all the latest conveniences. The space This French country house called Vitarel has been our family home for several decades. It is a special place for our family and friends, and we are delighted to share it with you. Over the past five years, I have painstakingly renovated the entire property and gardens. As a designer, I am a collector of rare objects, fine art, and furniture. I have filled the house with my favorite things, such as original mid-century modern furniture and fine art alongside original furniture pieces I designed. The property consists of four dwellings: The House, The Studio, The Cottage, and The Garden Suite. Each home is equipped with a full kitchen and bathroom. The House features two bedrooms with en suite bathroom. This unique setup allows for four to five groups of friends to stay together while still providing ample space for solitude. It is also an ideal setup for large family gatherings. All five bedrooms boast double beds with premium mattresses, down pillows and duvets, and percale cotton sheets from Merci in Paris. Vitarel is the perfect destination for large groups of friends and family. A modern-designed saltwater swimming pool, stunning gardens, grassy areas, terraced spaces, fruit trees, and an olive grove surround the home. The west terrace of the house features a BBQ and seating for 10 people for outdoor dining. The upper level of The Studio is ideal for indoor gatherings, with a table that seats 12. Two comfortable modern couches, a high-end Sonos audio system, and a 4K ultra-large-screen smart TV are provided for movie nights. The studio is also fully air-conditioned. A heated saltwater pool awaits with six sun loungers and a picnic table for eight. The pool is covered by an iconic solar canopy that provides shade during the midday summer heat. Each of the four kitchens is well-equipped with everything a gourmet cook could need, including high-quality chef knives, premium stainless-steel cookware from Crane, and all the necessary kitchen tools. An Italian Rocket Espresso machine and Rocket coffee bean grinder are available in the studio for espressos, café au lait, or cappuccinos, while pour-over and French press methods are available in all other units. The property also offers two Level 2 fast charging stations for a Tesla and standard EV charging, provided at no extra cost to guests. Innovative home technology ensures energy efficiency and adapts conditions to the guests' needs. Fast fiber optic Wi-Fi is available in all units, with a Starlink satellite as backup if needed. Each unit is equipped with the latest Sonos Wi-Fi speakers, an iPad to control the music, and a free premium Spotify account. Vitarel stands as a leading example of environmentally sustainable building practices. All the energy required to run Vitarel is powered by solar, and rainwater is reclaimed from the roofs and terraces, captured in large hidden underground reservoirs for irrigation. Guest access Our house manger will meet you and give you a brief orientation of the property. Keys will be handed over at that time. If you will have an arrival after 7 pm we will need to know in advance and we can either meet you or put the keys in a lockbox Other things to note *****PLEASE READ**** While we love children, this property may not be the right fit for families with young children. There are several staircases inside and outside that need to be gated. Young children will need supervision. The home is also full of precious and rare vintage furniture and fragile heirlooms that cannot be replaced. All children will always require supervision to prevent damage. You will be held responsible for any damage that occurs. The property also may not be suitable for people with mobility issues. All units except Le Cottage require stairs to access the bedrooms. The pool does not have a fence with a locked gate. As a legally correct alternative, a motorized mechanical cover protects children and adults from drowning. To be effective, you must cover the pool when there are no supervising adults in the pool area. The cover is motorized and automatic and only takes a few minutes to open or close. It will be your responsibility to cover the pool to fulfill the pool safety laws in France. The pool cover is legally recognized as a safe solution for children. Nonetheless, children should be supervised. No glass can be brought into the pool or picnic table. We have provided a complete set of good-quality plastic wine glasses and tumblers for the pool area. Limit of 10 guests. No camping on the property. No events or professional photography without written permission. Strictly no smoking in any of the homes or the adjoining balconies. If you must smoke, please go outside and use an ashtray. This is a country home surrounded by working farms. You may occasionally hear the farmers on tractors working their land. There are spiders, cobwebs, and occasional critters. It's all part of the charm of the property.
