Situated 5 mins from Lake Helene and if you’re looking for peace and tranquility you won’t be disappointed. The 19th century farmhouse has been lovingly restored with a mixture of old and new decor retaining its rustic charm. It offers a very spacious interior and the exterior is set within its own 1.5 acre grounds giving you space to enjoy the panoramic views of the French countryside creates a very relaxing environment. You can enjoy the sun rise on the deck and star gazing in the evening. The space The property is a 19th century stone farmhouse with character and charm. The Barns and outbuildings are set back from the main house and can be used for guest storage. The games room has a full size snooker table and dart board. The interior rooms are spacious, bright and airy and decorated with a mixture of new and old furnishings. The open attic room has a dining table for area to play board games. A hammock hangs from the beams and is a lovely relaxing space. Two bedrooms and a 4 piece bathroom are on this floor and also a superb double sofa bed. The space is perfect for yoga and meditation if that’s your thing. The ground floor living room leads from the kitchen and opens onto a large deck overlooking the countryside, which now extends to the Swimming pool and another new sunbathing deck. Also ideal for yoga and meditation and evening star gazing. The house is within walking distance of the village with amenities to include a Tabac/ Bar, Restaurant, Pharmacy, Patisserie, Supermarket, Church, the local Marie and Lac du Saint Helene with a beach, childrens play area, picnic tables, cafe bar and restaurant with lots of activities such as kayaking. canoeing, swimming, fishing etc. There are lots of walks and numerous other lakes in the area too. The owners, Paul & Caroline spent over 3 years lovingly renovating the house which had been left derelict for years. It’s truly a magical place and we hope guests enjoy the privacy, peace and tranquility that the house and its surroundings have tonoffer. Guest access The whole house is accessible for guests as described. There are large wooden gates leading onto a sweeping driveway which has ample space for multiple vehicles. A new addition in 2024 is a fabulous above ground swimming pool and large sunbathing deck area.There is a stone barn set to the left side of the house which is available for guests to store upto a dozen bikes or other sports equipment. The barn next door, houses the games room with a full size snooker table (Pool Balls also) with professional darts board and games for the garden. Children in this barn must be accompanied by an adult at all times. The grass, gravel and deck areas surrounding the house (1.5acres) are accessible to guests within the fencing. The areas beyond any fencing is not accessible to guests but you can still enjoy the views! Other things to note The gardens are mainly laid to lawn and perfect for ball games and other recreational purposes and also now a brand new above ground swimming pool.Unfortunately, we do not provide cot beds or high chairs but you are welcome to bring your own. Also there is no safety gates on the stairs. There is a BBQ for guests to use but must be cleaned after use and provide your own bbq fuel.
