15 minutes from Faro Airport, spend a season in our space, work from your computer and continue the day relaxing, meditating, doing yoga, take some vegetables for your salad from our organic garden, or visit the beach 15 minutes away to have a coffee or try delicious Algarve food, or have fun with outdoor sports or discover the wonders of sunny Algarve. The space Location The house is located in a fairly quiet rural area, just 18 minutes from Faro, Faro beach and Faro airport. There is little traffic here, however, public transport is basically non-existent. Therefore, it is advisable to rent a car, Uber works well, but it can be slow in the summer months. The nearby Cerro de Guilhim can be climbed on foot and offers a fantastic panoramic view from Olhao to Albufeira. For sports enthusiasts, it is ideal to walk or cycle through the mountainous landscape. If you use a rental car, you can reach Lisbon in about three hours by highway, although there are also train and bus connections from Faro. Nearby is the community of Estoi (approximately 7 minutes) (with a regular market, restaurants, Roman ruins, famous Estoi gardens), Santa Bárbara de Nexe (approximately 10 minutes) (restaurants and bakery). Continuing north on the N2 national road is São Brás de Alportel (approximately 10 minutes) with numerous shops, supermarkets, and restaurants/cafes. The nearest restaurant is approximately 1 km away. The nearest mini-market is about 3 km away. The house: The old brick factory, over a century old, was transformed into a residence in the 1970s. Last year, the house was completely renovated and equipped with modern amenities. In some places, you can still see signs of its long history. The old oven is located in the private area (square tower visible from the back). The house is connected to the fast fiber optic network and has a photovoltaic system with battery storage. The house is connected to the municipal water supply. The water is considered drinkable. The house has a septic tank/drainage system, so it is normal in this area to use the basket to deposit toilet paper. The apartments: Renovated since 2022 and equipped with modern technology, such as an electric underfloor heating system in the bathroom and living room, providing uniform and comfortable heat when needed. In addition, the air conditioning can be used for heating or cooling. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, extractor hood, induction stove, microwave oven, toaster, kettle, French coffee maker, and refrigerator with freezer. Wi-Fi is available in the apartments and on the terrace. Also a flat-screen TV. Some electrical outlets have USB ports for charging electronic devices. Bathrooms have a spacious accessible shower and are equipped with heated towel racks. The laundry room is outside and is shared, as is the grill area. (No smoking or pets allowed). Outdoor area: Guests have a covered terrace where they can relax even in the rain. The dining room and charcoal barbecue are available right there. The front garden offers a pergola where you can enjoy the sunset Upon request, guests can moderately help themselves to the organic garden and fruit trees (availability depends on the season and cannot be guaranteed). Other: The owners have a home in the same building and have redesigned the house and garden with a lot of love and great effort, so they ask guests to be especially considerate of the garden and plants. Parking is available on site (covered parking is also available upon request). There is also an electric vehicle charging station through the house's photo-voltaic system, for a fee available upon request. Quiet hours must be respected. Recycling is key in this area so it is necessary to separate solid waste for which we offer containers for glass, paper/cardboard, as well as plastics/PET, organic.
