Description
Sunset Cottage is a quiet, comfortable, self-contained cottage enclosed by beautiful gardens and surrounded by farmland. From the deck and the main room, the views over the countryside are magnificent. You are welcome to explore the main gardens and say hello to our alpacas. The space Sunset Cottage is small single room cottage with a luxurious bathroom, simple kitchen, and generous deck with a BBQ. There is ample parking space and an undercover area. Included in your tariff are teas, coffee, sugar, milk, oil and vinegar, salt, and pepper. We will provide a simple breakfast including local fresh bread and eggs, butter and marmalade, orange juice, muesli, et al. for your first morning. We can provide a cheese / charcuterie platter ($65) with gin and tonic and / or local wine (both at cost) which will be ready for when you arrive. Please contact us if this is of interest. Guest access You are welcome to explore the garden. Other things to note The nearest village is Koonwarra (just over 3 kms from the cottage); where there is a cafe, and Paddlewheel, an organic fruit and veg shop. There is a farmers market on the first Saturday of every month. From the village you can enter the Great Southern Rail Trail which travels to Loch going west and Port Welshpool to the east. Bikes (electric and traditional) can be hired in Leongatha and Meeniyan. Five minutes to the east in the car will take you to the village of Meeniyan. Visit Pandesal Bakery, Trulli Deli and Pizzeria, Moos Mahoob Restaurant, the Meeniyan Hotel, Bread and Pickles and the Meeniyan Store. There are also some interesting shops: Mika and Max and Lacy Jewellers. There is an IGA and attached bottle shop. Always check opening and closing times as they may change depending on the time of the year. Further afield visit Inverloch, Wilsons Prom, Fish Creek, Foster, Korumburra, and Loch, to name but a few interesting local destinations. Beaches, walks, golf courses, cafes, wineries, a cidery, potteries, art galleries, gift and homewares, gin distillery, antique stores and much, much more.
