Set in a peaceful and tranquil location, high in the Serra de Monchique, The Studio at Fóia Mountain Lodge is a charming 1 bedroom apartment with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and distant views to the sea. The space The Studio is a self-contained 1 bedroom apartment with its own private entrance and parking area. You'll have a small, but fully equipped kitchen, a comfortable lounge space, and a separate bedroom with blackout blinds for a good night's sleep. High-speed satellite internet (Starlink) is available, with download/upload speeds of around 350mbps/300mbps. The lodge is surrounded by nature, with hiking trails on your doorstep, and there are plenty of opportunities for walking, mountain biking, and exploring the local area. The small mountain town of Monchique is about 4km away, and offers a variety of shops and restaurants, including a well stocked supermarket (Intermarche). Some of the best beaches in the Algarve are accessible within about 40 mins drive, and the larger towns of Lagos and Portimão are both about 45 mins away, for a greater choice of restaurants and nightlife. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the studio, and a private patio with outdoor seating. The pool area is shared with the owners, who live in the main house. There is no lifeguard or pool fence. Guests are also free to wander the gardens which include a number of mature fig, olive and oak trees. Other things to note Fóia Mountain Lodge sits in the Serra de Monchique, about 40mins drive from Portimão, and 1hr 10mins from Faro Airport. At 715m, we’re 185m below the peak of Fóia, the highest mountain in southern Portugal. With 2 acres of terraced fields gently cascading in front of the property, the lodge enjoys beautiful views of the south coast, from Faro to Sagres. A perfect place to escape from the hustle of daily life, but only a 40 minute drive to some of the best beaches the Algarve has to offer.
