The Cottage at Marsh Creek (with hot tub!)

Peaceful, renovated cottage with year-round hot tub less than a mile from Marsh Creek State Park and lake! 1 bedroom (with king size bed!), 1 bathroom The park has hiking, fishing & water sports. Close to great dining, breweries, coffee, & other activities, but far enough from town to feel relaxing & somewhat secluded. Dog friendly! You'll have access to the entire home, including the private patio with string lights & hot tub. The cottage is right down the street from the lake and state park, which has miles of great hiking trails. The house also comes with two inflatable stand up paddleboards so you can get out on the water in warmer weather. There are tons of great dining options, breweries, coffee shops, and farmstands within 15 minutes - please check out my Guidebook for a list or reach out with any questions! There are also some great activities in the area (canoe trips down the Brandywine River, gardens, horseback riding, etc). The cottage is a great home base to enjoy the outdoors and explore the area! During your stay, you’ll enjoy: •Self check-in via keyless entry •Year-round hot tub, which is maintained, cleaned, and balanced between guests •King-size gel memory foam mattress •Two inflatable stand up paddle boards •Private patio with hot tub, outdoor sectional, propane grill, and string lights •50” smart TV •Filtered drinking water •High quality coffee setup with Ninja coffee maker and conical burr grinder for the best possible coffee! We also provide organic coffee beans. Fresh towels, linens, and robes are provided. We are dog friendly, although please note that the yard is not fenced. Please let us know if you plan to bring your pup! There is a $45 pet fee per stay. CATS OR OTHER ANIMALS ARE NOT PERMITTED. Parking is limited to one car, although we can accommodate two smaller cars with advance notice! Note: if you are sensitive to smells, please reach out well in advance of your stay. My cleaner uses unscented laundry detergent for all linens, and we do our best to use very minimally scented cleaning products. We also do not use air fresheners at the cottage. However, we do use an all-purpose cleaning solution that has essential oils. Most people love the light and refreshing smell. However, if you are sensitive to the scent of essential oils, please let us know. We can clean before your stay with a completely unscented all-purpose cleaner. Please note that we do need at least 24 hours notice to accommodate this request. Guest access Enjoy the entire cottage (including private patio, hot tub, and front porch) - all to yourself! Please note that this is one of two cottages on the one-acre property. The two cottages are situated at opposite ends of the property, and are completely private. Please note that parking is limited to one car unless otherwise discussed. Other things to note The space is set up for a maximum of two adult guests. Babies are welcome, but please note that the house is not baby-proofed and does not include a crib or pack and play. There is a set of stairs that must be climbed to access the front porch. Please note that the cottage was built in 1937 and has the original stone exterior steps. Some steps and walkways may be uneven. Guests should exercise care when entering and exiting the property. The cottage does not have a washer/dryer, but local laundry service (wash, dry, and fold) is available via the Poplin app. My cleaner is also sometimes available to do laundry for longer stays - please reach out to inquire! Also, please note that there is not a hair dryer or clothing iron at the house. COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY: Small commercial shoots may be permitted with advance notice.
