Description

Get away from it all when you stay under the stars in our one-of-a-kind off-grid cabin on Falls Creek Homestead only 4 min from Darrington. Nestled on 40 acres near Jumbo and Whitehorse Mountain, you'll enjoy 360 views, room to explore and relax, and only 30 min. drive to North Cascades National Park! The cabin is built with 10-foot windows in every room so you can enjoy all that nature has to offer with the comfort of our unique home. Huge soaker tub boasts Mountain Views! Fire pit in yard! The space Downstairs is a completely open floor plan. Our bar height dining table comfortably seats 4-6 for eating and games. Our downstairs sectional features a queen sized sleeper sofa to accomodate extra sleeping spaces and those who are not comfortable going up our treehouse like stairs. The open plan upstairs loft has two connected sleeping spaces, one with a purple brand memory foam queen-sized bed and the other side a full-sized luxury day bed that comfortably sleeps 1-2 - please note that the cabin is open floor plan so best for people staying with friends/family they’re comfortable sharing spaces with! For additional sleeping spaces we also offer a pull-out memory foam twin sized cot located under the full-sized bed! INCREDIBLE views from upstairs and entire cabin! The bathroom is a separate building 10 feet from the cabin. Although off-grid, the cabin has a flushing toilet and a huge, incredible bathtub (with instant hot water) and also has incredible views for relaxing. The bathroom is a work in progress although completely functional. In addition to the soaker tub, we have a SEASONAL outdoor shower for use by guests if you'd prefer that over a bath. Please note we winterize the shower when temps get below freezing (usually December-February) subject to change. Please note the treehouse style stairs are very steep and not suitable for anyone with any mobility concerns. Wi-Fi password is supplied on the wall in the cabin! We have a Bluetooth projector with Netflix and prime downloaded on it, you just sign in - or you can cast from a phone or laptop! In addition, our one-of-a-kind cabin has personal features our family loves providing like 2 custom murals by local artists, unlimited outdoor space to play and explore, nearby public river access, a smores kit, bottle of wine, full sized kitchen and refrigerator with gas range, board games and so much more. Everything you need for an amazing couples retreat, family getaway, or friends hiking adventure. Our airbnb was built and run by our family and we strive to go above and beyond to meet any needs or wants you might have for your trip. Please note while we are dog friendly, we kindly ask that you keep your animals off the furniture if possible as it is very difficult to get pet hair out. If your pets prefer to sleep with you, please use one of the extra blankets provided to lay out over the bed and kindly ask that you do your best to help us keep our sheets and duvets clean, keeping our pet fees low. We love pets and know that our property is awesome for dogs! We have also provided a sanitized dog bed your pet is more than welcome to utilize upstairs or down. FOR Fall/WINTER GUESTS: Winters in Darrington can be harsh - depending on the year there can be a lot of snow. December-February is very hit or miss on temperature and snow levels. Just want to make sure you’re aware that it will be very wintery! The outdoor shower will be winterized during this time. The cabin is nice and cozy and has both a wonderfully warm propane powered wall heater so staying warm is no issue and if you like winter and snow, it’s a very cozy, fun place to be! Also note that there is an indoor bathtub with hot water but currently only an outdoor shower. We’ll also ask that you conserve power as much as possible as the cabin is ran on solar power which is more scarce in the winter (but no worries- we have a generator to charge up the batteries when they’re isn’t enough sun) In the instance there is severe weather or something like frozen pipes, we would let you know and have a flexible booking policy so you’d be able to make the choice on whether you want to cancel or not! We will not cancel your stay for frozen pipes, and will make accommodation to provide you potable water - as low temperatures are part of winters in Darrington and the nature of off-grid. You may cancel per our policy in this case OR we can work with you to reschedule your stay at no additional cost Our property also features a campground on a different area of the property if you have additional people in your group looking to stay nearby. Additionally, we can host outdoor focused retreats - if this is something you're interested in, please reach out via message. Looking forward to hosting you in our cozy winter cabin! Devan and Ginny Guest access You'll have access to the entire cabin and 20 acres of the property that includes creek and river access, along with several trails. Please note that the stairs to the loft are moderately steep and may be difficult for those with severe mobility issues. There is a sleeping sofa downstairs to accomodate! We have a campground on 10 acres of the lower property completely separate from the cabin, and cabin guests are allowed to walk through the campground for river access but campers are not allowed anywhere near the cabin to ensure ample privacy for guests! Other things to note We can accommodate and coordinate group retreats/events for additional cost - please reach out if you're interested in hosting with us! This is an off-grid property run off on solar power and a generator - most things work like a normal home on city electrical would but there can be a few quirks - we will be here to help you! Everything is automated, so the most you’ll ever need to do is start the generator to charge up the batteries if there isn’t enough sun (and we typically monitor this remotely and would come do it for you!) The bathroom shower, tub and sink have hot water, but the inside kitchen sink has water the temperature of whatever is in our tank depending on weather. It can be chilly in the winter. As guests have stated, the cabin is the perfect base camp for those visiting the North Cascades NP! Please note that the soaker tub is indoors in the bathhouse, but this property features an OUTDOOR shower you're sure to love (there is no indoor shower) showering in hot water out in the fresh air is truly an incredible experience! Please note we do NOT have air conditioning but the cabin stays fairly cool with upstairs curtains shut and windows open and the rivers an amazing place to cool off on warm days. We have a fan for use as needed but due to the off grid nature of the house please do not use the fan 24/7 and utilize natural ways to cool down. Due to the open-concept nature of this cabin, it is best suited for groups comfortable and friendly with each other - the upstairs sleeping loft rooms is separated by a curtain but the bath house is a separate building that provides great privacy for dressing, etc.
