Mid-century meets beach-boho home on the peaceful and historic north end of Roanoke Island. Nestled in the pines and live oaks, this 3 bed 2 bath plus office/den is truly a vacation away from it all. What you can expect is clean, comfortable furnishings and bedding, quiet and peaceful evenings, and incredible local nature. We are about a 15-minute drive to the Atlantic Ocean beaches and a 15-minute bike ride to downtown Manteo. The space Welcome! You may have been greeted by a resident kitty, we have 2 who are property managers here. Guests will typically enter through the carport door. This will lead you into the mud room where you will find the laundry facilities and plenty of places to hang your beach bags. After dropping your flops, you will enter the main hallway. The front of the house will be to the right and consists of two bedrooms with brand-new queen-size beds, smart TVs, and plenty of closet space. Please note all the rooms have ceiling fans and there is cold AC throughout. There is also a den/office across the hall with a workspace and a super comfortable full-size fold-out sofa, also with a smart TV. There is a full bathroom with a tub and shower adjacent to these rooms. This isn’t a large bath but it gets the job done. Bear in mind that there is a third shower outside. We find in the summer that we rarely shower in the house! Taking a left out of the mud room leads you to the open-concept living-dining kitchen. There is everything you need in this kitchen to do just about anything. Tons of spices, etc. Guests are welcome to help themselves to any staples available in the house. Plenty of seating for loungers and diners. The kitchen and living room open up to an awesome screened porch and a peaceful and private yard. The yard features a wood deck for sunbathing or hanging out while grilling dinner. There is also a large fire pit for evening chats and marshmallow roasting or whatever floats your boat. It is ridiculously peaceful to come out in the evenings in the summer and stargaze, watch the lightning bugs, or listen to the cicadas. Atlantic Ocean and beach accesses with free parking - a 15-minute drive Historic waterfront of Shallowbag Bay, downtown Manteo, surrounded by historic sites, boutiques, restaurants, a brewery, and a distillery - a 5-minute drive or 15-minute bike ride Fort Raleigh historic site, the Elizabethan Gardens, The (beautiful) Lost Colony Theater, and an EPIC sound beach with free parking - a 1-minute drive or a 5-minute bike ride MANTEO CYCLERY rents bicycles, and the owner Bryan is great!
