Oran na Cuthaig - meaning "song of the cuckoo" in Scottish gaelic - is a stylishly renovated former croft house occupying an idyllic setting above a picturesque sea loch and harbour. Set just 12-miles from the main town of Stornoway, this delightful property is the ideal base for families and groups looking to explore the islands of both Harris and Lewis, throughout the seasons. An easy journey from coastal, moorland and mountain walks, ancient sites and many spectacular white sand beaches. The space This charming house was fully renovated to exacting standards in 2022 with comfortable, colourful and sumptuous decor throughout. It offers a fully equipped kitchen, three comfortable living areas in which to relax, read, enjoy company or soak up the stunning south facing view over Loch Erisort and the Harris hills beyond. Sleeping a maximum of 6 in two doubles and one twin with three bath/shower rooms and a separate WC. Bedrooms are light, airy and comfortable. Guest access Guests are able to use all of the main house and garden, as well as parking space to the side. There is a croft entrance that passes through a section of the property which they are asked to keep clear. A small barn with wood-store to one side of the site is not for guest use. The site is private and peaceful and, being situated on a no through road, guests can expect to have little noise or disturbance during their stay, apart from the occasional cuckoo and quiet chant of new lambs in spring. Other things to note Guests are welcome to bring one well behaved dog. Multiple dogs, or large dogs, dogs are only allowed at the owners discretion. Please discuss your requirements before booking.
