Country cottage between Ulverston and Coniston

Relax and spend some time with your family or friends in this perfect location within the Lake District National Park. The space The lodge is a detached 3 bedroomed property in a rural position with a large garden. Built in the late 1700’s it is an older property with some of the original features. There is a good sized comfortable lounge with 40” smart TV, Sky high speed internet and a selection of games and books. The lounge has great views of the cows in the neighboring fields. There is an open fireplace and we supply enough logs for one fire in the winter Months (October-April). Bedroom 1 and 2 have comfortable King Sized beds and room darkening curtains. A hairdryer is available and a clothes steamer . Bedroom 3 is suitable for children with shorty bunk beds ( suitable for children under 165 cm and less than 12 stone. Children under 6 years should not use the top bunk) and blackout blinds . The children will love the colour changing bluetooth light and speaker. Dim the lights and play some relaxing music or a story! There is a modern well equipped kitchen with a space for dining and all the amenities needed for a short break including dishwasher and dualit coffee maker. If you like cooking you will be able to find a good selection of equipment. Outside there is a slate yard area and outside tap, useful for cleaning dogs, and a large grassed garden area. Patio furniture , outdoor rug and a charcoal bbq are available in the summer months (May-Sept). Please be aware this is an older property with original features including range fireplace with wooden and slate floors. The wearing of slippers or indoor shoes is recommended. The lounge, bathroom and all bedrooms are on the ground floor. The kitchen is downstairs on a lower floor accessible by a staircase. We only usually accept 1 dog due to the size of the property but if you have 2 dogs we may be able to accommodate you depending on size of dog . We will charge an extra £20 for the second dog. Guest access Guests have some access to the lodge and adjacent private garden. There is good off road parking next to the property. Due to high laundry costs beds will be made up according to the number of guests booked. There are 2 small steps into the property and all the bedrooms, living room and bathroom are on the same level. The kitchen is situated down a flight of stairs. Other things to note The third bedroom has smaller bunk beds and is suitable for children under 165 cm and less than 12 stone. Children under 6 years should not use the top bunk. A maximum of 4 adults at the property is recommended due to its size and the bed configuration. The lodge is situated within the grounds of a private property to which the guests do not have access to. It is the original gatehouse to the property. We have some baby equipment available including a baby bath, high chair, plastic plates and cutlery and fire guard. We do not have a stair gate but there is a door at the top of the stairs that can be bolted closed. Please let us know if you would like to use any of this equipment. Please be aware that we have a gardener that may require access to the gardens for regular maintenance. You will be informed prior to any internal access needed for essential maintenance.
