Description
A set of 4 former barns that have been converted into individually designed cottages offering your own space whilst still able to all come together to socialise and dine. Located close to the popular Monsal Trail which can be accessed via a stile in the grounds. 2 miles from Bakewell. Sleeps 16 in 8 bedrooms and 8 en suites / shared bathrooms. Dog friendly, we charge an additional £30 PER DOG for the duration of your stay and can accept 3 dogs Fabulous family house, not a party venue. The space Rowdale Barns offers plenty of space, across the 4 cottages you have as exclusive use for your stay. The main social area is within The Old Dairy, here you can all come together to socialise and dine, it is all open plan with a large table for 16, a well equipped kitchen and a further cosy seating area close to the Log Burner. This property has 2 bedrooms with en suites, both on the ground floor. Byre Cottage has 1 bedroom with a cosy lounge / dining room with log burner, a modern kitchen is also on the ground floor. The good sized bedroom is on the open galleried floor above. However, we would say that it is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility. The Coach House cottage offers a cosy lounge finished in neutral colours with electric log burner fire, fully equipped kitchen and 2 bedrooms with en suites. The final cottage, The Milking Shed is just bedrooms all 3 are located on the ground floor each with their own en suite and there is a tea / coffee making area in the hallway. There is a games store situated in a separate outbuilding opposite the property, this contains a table football, folding table tennis table that can be used outside, cabinet with board games and books, wall mounted hoopla game, Jenga and a small sofa plus the washing machine. The foldable BBQ''s are stored in here and are not left out. There is a decent sized garden to the front of the cottages, this has a lawn and a gravelled area with picnic benches and a BBQ. There is parking to the left hand side of the driveway just before the cottages. Easy access to the Monsal Trail on the opposite side of the driveway from the recycling are. The route is padlocked at both ends and the access number is the same as the cottage - do not climb over the gate and please make sure they are secured and not left open once you have passed through- if on bikes you will need to go to Hassop Station to access the trail Guest access Exclusive use of the self catering accommodation Other things to note Each bedroom offer flexible options that can be made up as twins or doubles so you can pick and choose your layout to suit. You need to have made your request two weeks in advance as the beds cannot be changed upon arrival as there is no staff on site. We provide each guest with fresh towels. Hand soap and shower gel in all bathrooms. There is parking for around 8 cars. If you are looking for a relaxing stay in the Peak District with plenty of country pursuits but are not looking for a party venue, this is the ideal property for your stay. We also accept well behaved Hen/Stag groups. Please note that we are dog friendly at this property however, dogs must be kept under control at all times and never be left unattended. For your information, a maximum of 3 dogs are allowed on site if pre-arranged - they are welcome in most downstairs areas, (apart from The Coach House and Milking Shed where no dogs are allowed to stay) but you will be expected to keep them out of the bedrooms and off the soft furnishings. We do charge £30 PER DOG for the duration of your stay. For the comfort of all guests, outdoor shoes are not generally worn on the carpeted area of the house, so don’t forget your slippers! Noise Policy - due to the quiet location, late-night noise must be confined to inside the building by 10 pm as neighbours are in close proximity. Please respect this. No fireworks, drones or Chinese Lanterns; you are on the edge of a National Park with wildlife and livestock close by. Wifi – we provide free wifi however, as the Peak District is in a beautiful rural location, sometimes there can be intermittent wifi signal that is beyond our control; we also hope you appreciate that we cannot guarantee wifi if there are technical issues out of our control. Please bring your own cot bed linen as this is not provided
