The Woodland Hills Cottage

Come enjoy your get away in the peace & tranquility of the Woodland Hills Cottage. Tucked in the midst of a drought tolerant oasis, this charming home is Topanga adjacent (only 12 miles to PCH & the beach) and close to the 101 and all the best that Woodland Hills & Calabasas have to offer. And it's only 5 min away from Dirt Mulholland w/ access to the renowned hiking/biking trails of Topanga State Park and just a short walk to local shops and restaurants at Dumetz & Topanga Canyon Boulevard. The space This well appointed home has everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay: fully stocked kitchen, games, soaking tub, yoga room, massage table, hammock, outdoor living and dining spaces and a hot tub all provide places to connect with the one you love. It is the perfect launch pad for whatever brings you to this area and the recreational opportunities abound: mountain biking, hiking and the beach are all just minutes away. If you need a second bed, be sure to let us know, otherwise the yoga room will be as pictured, without the futon made up. This is our home and it is filled with many treasures, please leave them where you found them. And if you use up something in the kitchen, please be so kind as to buy a replacement. if you would like daily or weekly maid service, it is available for an additional charge. A mid stay clean will be provided for stays longer than 2 weeks. Guest access You will have access to everything except the detached guest house in the back. Per the terms of our home sharing permit, you may see me or my sons coming and going from the guest house, always being mindful of our guest's privacy. The walkway thru the carport is a shared space. Other things to note We frequently have a 30° temperature differential, so in the Summer months opening up the house at night and closing it back down before the heat of the day will help to keep it naturally cooler-- and in the Winter it'll allow the warmer air in and the open doors and windows allow you to hear all the amazing birds and squirrels who call our garden home. We have 2 semi feral outdoor kitties named Willis (fluffy) and Vixen (short hair.) They are the neighborhood Moussers, but are becoming quite friendly with all the new attention and they love rubs! Their bowls and bag of food are under the kitchen sink, feel free to invite them in to give them 1/2 cup once in a while. But they are great hunters, so no worries if you'd prefer to not interact with them! And please don't feed them outside, as it attracts ants, skunks, opposums and raccoons. Because we have outdoor kitties on the property and regularly host guests with allergies, The Woodland Hills Cottage is not a good fit for people travelling with animals.
