Wake up in wine country

Hay River Estate farm stay tranquil getaway located on a working farm and vineyard in Mt Barker, WA. The property offers beautiful views across the rolling hills of Mt Barker with plenty to explore away from the hustle and bustle. The farm is conveniently located 7km from Mt Barker town, 50km from Albany and Denmark and is a short drive to wineries, hiking trails and national parks. The space Each morning you will wake up refreshed after a good night’s sleep in the luxurious queen bed to beautiful views across the property which can be further enjoyed out on the patio with a Nespresso coffee and (if laying) some fresh eggs laid by our free-range hens . During the day there is plenty to do: explore Mount Barker town, drive up to the tower hill lookout and get a 360-degree view of the area (from here you can also look over the Hay River property) or enjoy some of the many award-winning wineries nearby. If you’re feeling more adventurous you can venture out further and hike the Castle Rock Granite skywalk in the Porongurup National Park or within an hour’s drive, you can visit the amazing Stirling Range National Park and hike one of the many trails within the park. To finish off your day wind down with a glass of local wine and a cheese plate on the patio and watch the sunset over the vineyard. Once the sun has set a night in the country wouldn’t be complete without stargazing while sitting around the firepit. The farm stay is ideal for couples but the lounge does pull out into a queen bed so we can accommodate up to 4 people. A porta-cot and highchair are also available upon request. You will have everything you need for your stay including a fully equipped kitchen, BBQ and all bedding. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire building, there are two undercover parking bays for your convenience. Access to the accommodation will be on a shared driveway with us and a map of how to access the farm stay will be provided before check in. We would love to have you explore our property during your visit however we have to make sure this is done as safely as possible. You may walk around the vineyard, however, please don’t pick anything off the vines. Also be aware some fences maybe electrified, the gates are not, if you go through any gates, we ask that you keep them as you found them. Please don’t enter the paddocks with livestock – as cute Rocky the Alpaca looks; he can be unpredictable, and we would hate for anyone to be hurt by him. We have several dams on the property (all gated) and must not be entered. Other things to note During the summer months we have a very strict No Flames Outside policy due to our location and bushfire risk, this must be strictly adhered to, anyone caught with an open flame during the summer months will be evicted from the property. The property also has a no smoking policy. For a very limited few mornings in February-April pickers will be present in the vineyard block in front of you whilst we pick our grapes.
