That of reviving its ashes The Domaine de Roquefalcou: it starts its first full season in 2024. The choices were made of qualitative and complete materials and appliances. a boulodrome is 1 km away. a hiking trail in the forest starts 50 meters from the house, to a 13th century washhouse! The cinema is 2 km away. train station 2km away tennis courts, basketball, rugby, Basque pelota, skate park, children's play structures 2km away. astronomy observatory and airfield 8 km away Great promotions are offered in 2024 and 2025 to make this exceptional place known! This charterhouse was built in 1856 to be a place of prestige and entertainment in addition to being a vineyard. Many of these areas have disappeared in the Bordeaux region, and this one was saved in extremis. Our vision is to magnify this charterhouse with noble materials and great aesthetic qualities, in order to respect the will of the past and to offer you a prestigious accommodation in a refined style. You have exclusive and private access to the entire estate. The price automatically adjusts if you are less than 3 people or more, so as not to penalise those who would like to enjoy the place by only needing one room! The charterhouse is organised on a ground floor of about 150 m2, consisting of a fully-equipped kitchen and a large living room. Everything gives a wide feeling of space thanks to the high ceiling. The width of the walls and the choice of the latest generation shutters (louver function) ensure freshness during the summer. However, in order to cope with episodes of exceptional heatwave, a window air conditioner has been positioned in the south-facing bedroom and living room, thus providing more comfort. The kitchen is fully equipped, dishwasher, fridge/freezer (makes ice cubes and dispenses cold water) Smeg stove, induction hob as well as freshly ground coffee machine, citrus press, toaster etc... In the living room, the TV is oversized with a soundbar. An Xbox is present as well as board games. The 3 bedrooms can accommodate 6 people with two king-size beds (180) in 2 bedrooms and two single beds in 90 that can be brought together to obtain the same dimensions as the beds mentioned above. The bedding is of high quality with washed cotton satin bed linen. You'll have fibre and each room has a network socket. A vacuum cleaner cleans the accommodation every day if you wish. We can provide our guests with a cot, high chair... The exteriors are arranged in undergrowth and guarantee unparalleled freshness in summer. Perfect for barbecue evenings (gas, plancha or brazier). The swimming pool is located 75 metres from the house, and offers you moments of relaxation, lying on a sun lounger or on the garden furniture, and the swimming pool offers a progressive depth of 2 metres and is equipped with an alarm. There is 1 shower room, 1 bathroom (bathtub), 1 separate toilet. You have exclusive use of the place and privacy is guaranteed. The prices of reservations for the first few months are deliberately very advantageous! Guest access You enter a private driveway without a gate that leads you to a parking area. Then an old cobblestone path – not very flat – from the 19th century leads you to an old Bordeaux charterhouse. On the right is an old cellar, and on the left is the old farmers' house, both not yet restored. Entry can be made through a key box or we can wait for you there in person! Other things to note It is possible that 4 rams will be watching you on arrival behind their electrified fences (because the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence): Soay sheep. It is an ancestral breed with the appearance of "horned deer" intended for eco-grazing. They are curious, gentle and silent, do not try to pet them (it would be a waste of time, the species retains a fearful instinct) or to feed them (they feed only on vegetables and any other food could be fatal to them) ** THE SHEEP WILL BE GRAZING IN ANOTHER MEADOW UNTIL 05/30/2025** Guests have access to the entire property, which is about 5 hectares. However, it is strongly discouraged to visit the wooded land: these are organized in high terraces and the vegetation is so dense that it may be difficult to clearly perceive the boundaries of the land. Children are forbidden to walk alone in the woods (for the same reasons) and in the enclosure of the rams (as a precaution). Children should of course be supervised when enjoying the pool. Mowed areas make it easier to identify places to visit. You have to imagine more of a sloping wooded place with exceptional nature rather than a garden, which keeps cool in summer and you may come across a doe or a fox early in the morning. Although located in the city, the house immediately offers the feeling of an exceptional, quiet and rejuvenating place. We have equipped it with an easy-to-use alarm system, which also secures you at night. The place is not recommended for people with reduced mobility (presence of steps, "rough" terrain, slope)
