The Big Blue Barn

Lofted barn apartment in beautiful Fieldbrook, California, situated among a 15-acre redwood forest. Only an 8 minute drive to McKinleyville and the Pacific Ocean, and 15 minutes to Arcata Plaza and Cal Poly Humboldt University. Peaceful and quiet, with hiking trails, deer, and wind whispering in the trees. Humboldt County is one of the West Coast's most magical, majestic landscapes – and Fieldbrook is one of the area's loveliest hidden gems. The space The unit is the upper level of a recently renovated 1973 barn. It has a California King bed as well as a fold-out couch (which sleeps one adult or two children). Additionally, there is a dresser for clothes and a kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, and electric kettle. The spacious bathroom has a clawfoot tub and shower, and its own heating unit, plus a view of the woods. For those interested in a forest walk, the property spans 15 acres so there are trails winding through the woods, as well as an old logging road. If you'd like to explore just let us know and we can explain the routes. Guest access There is plenty of parking around the topped old-growth redwood tree in front of the barn. Other things to note We live in the other house on the property and are around to assist if need be.
