New Private Cabins in a Forest with a River View.

Brand new comfortable and well-designed cabins. The sheltered hot outdoor shower, accessible from the bathroom, is a delightful experience in all weathers. They are both very private though it is just a stone’s throw away from the Ring Road. Excellent base for exploring the wonders of the South, for instance Gullfoss & Geysir, The Westmann Islands, the beautiful waterfalls along the south coast and The black beach in Vik. The space The cabin is 25 square meters with sleeping area/living room/dining area, kitchenette with fridge, stove, kettle and toaster and necessary cutleries for making a light dinner. Double bed (160x200) in the sleeping area and a sofa bed in the living room. On the deck, there's a warm outdoor shower in a sheltered area. You can access it from the bathroom, and it is a delight to experience in all weathers. Linens, towels, soap, shampoo and balsam provided. Coffee and tee is provided. Guest access The land is a hidden gem 6,5 hectares (160 acres) A forest with hundreds of species of trees and bushes and stretches all the way down to the great salmon river Ytri Ranga. Guests are free to stroll and enjoy the forest and scenery. Other things to note We live in Auðkúla Dome which is one of few geodesic dome homes in Iceland. Half of it under glass the other half under turf. It is built in 1993 by Gerður, a widow of 63, who heard a voice from above that told her to build a dome. It is designed by renowned Icelandic architect Einar Þorsteinn. The land was bare when she started building the dome and she single handedly made it into the haven it is now. Our mission is to preserve and maintain her life's work.
