Description
This 200 year old stone cottage tucked into the hillside yet set perfectly overlooking the beautiful Wye,has a wealth of period features, original stone fireplace and beamed ceiling and has been lovingly updated and furnished with mainly vintage finds. The cottage is ideally situated for walking and exploring Tintern the Wye Valley and Offas Dyke paths. the views and the balcony to enjoy them makes this cottage very special. The space River view has two double bedrooms sleeping 4 guests. There is a cosy lounge with comfy sofa and arm chair, TV and a log burner for cooler nights. There is a dining table and four chairs with extra dining space on the balcony through double patio doors off the lounge. Sitting at the patio table offers wonderful views of the river bridge and surrounding countryside, perfect for your morning coffee or late evening night cap. There is further outdoor seating in the typical cottage flower garden. The garden has a lawned area and terraced herbaceous border planted around an old fig and bay tree. The property has a separate well equipped kitchen. The kitchen has a microwave, hob, oven, toaster, kettle, washer/ dryer, fridge with freezer compartment, and all the pots, pans and utensils you need. Upstairs there is a bathroom with toilet with a large powerful electric shower. Due to steep stone steps and balcony this property is unsuitable for children. Parking for one vehicle off road is provided and we do have an Electric vehicle charging station. Sorry no pets Guest access Guests can access all of the property. Other things to note The car parking outside the house is surrounded by old stone buildings and although it’s perfectly possible to park a car guests have described it as tight. There is on street parking about 2 minutes walk away on Mill Hill if you bring more than one car and or don’t enjoy parking in a tight spot. The stone steps down to the garden are steep and care needs to be taken when negotiating them in addition there is a spiral staircase from the balcony to the garden which again requires care to negotiate hence the property is unsuitable for children. The lane is ancient and narrow ie only enough room for a vehicle the size of a camper van to pass between the houses. Our front door opens onto the lane so be very careful when stepping out.
