Cottage Hideaway in Brigadoon

Relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility in the beautiful cottage on our 13-acre property where kangaroos roam freely and occasionally you might see an echidna. Wild ducks and long neck turtles live in our dam, which during the winter months overflows and cascades down the hill into a roaring waterfall which can be heard from the cottage. There is an abundance of birds; kookaburras, galahs, magpies, parrots, blue wrens to name just a few. Our property is NOT suitable for children or infants. The space We are situated in the picturesque hills of Brigadoon amongst natural bushland, overlooking the famous wine region of the beautiful Swan Valley. We are a 45-minute drive from Perth CBD, 30 mins from the airport and 15 minutes to the closest shopping centre. There are many wineries, craft breweries, distilleries, restaurants, and cafes to visit below us in the Swan Valley. Close by is Bells Rapids (Avon Descent), the State Equestrian Centre, John Forrest National Park, Belvoir Amphitheatre and Whiteman Park, to name just a few. A public tennis court and walking and horse-riding trails are only 300 metres away. Our hills hideaway is very private and separate to the main house. There is a private driveway leading to undercover car parking adjacent the entry. When you step (the only step) into the cottage you'll immediately experience the feeling of light and space. It is fully self-contained and has a very large kitchen/dining/lounge area with breathtaking views from the windows during the day across the beautiful valley. At night you will enjoy spectacular sunsets and city lights beyond the Swan Valley, through the large French doors. This area has a split system air conditioner to keep it comfortable all year round. The kitchen is very well equipped with a convection microwave, induction hot plates, an electric wok and frying pan, rice cooker and sandwich maker. Please note there is no oven in the kitchen. There is a BabyQ Weber BBQ with accessories on the private patio for your sole use. There is one large bedroom with a comfortable QS bed, plus hanging space and drawers for your clothes. A very large bathroom houses a washing machine and clothes dryer, although there is an undercover clothes line attached to the cottage. The bathroom includes a shower over the bath, vanity, and toilet. There is a huge patio surrounding the cottage which provides very private and comfortable sitting places for an early morning cuppa or a glass of wine at your leisure. Guest access Please note, the cottage is exclusively for the guests booked to stay (2 maximum) We do not allow any unauthorised visitors, vehicles, parties or events of any type during your stay. Any breach to this rule may result in additional charges. The 13-acre property has several walking options, ranging from relatively flat to a bit more challenging. You can stroll at your leisure to explore the natural bushland, spot local wildlife and birds or just to sit by the dam and listen to flowing water during the cooler months. The property entry is secured by an electric gate. The cottage key and gate fob will be in a key safe, with access instructions provided just prior to your arrival. During your stay you will be independent with the only need for contact being if you need assistance. We will always consider your needs and accommodate them if we are able. Other things to note We provide a light breakfast including cereal, milk, fresh fruit, homemade bread, fresh eggs, juice etc. There is a DeLonghi pod coffee making machine in the kitchen which takes LOR Espresso pods if you wish to bring some.
